How to keep Chinese cabbage for two months

Cabbage is a nutrient-rich vegetable, but it is easy to rot and deteriorate if it is not properly preserved. If you need to preserve Chinese cabbage for two months, you need to take some special measures. Here are some effective methods:

Choose fresh cabbage

The key to preserving Chinese cabbage is to choose fresh and intact Chinese cabbage. The leaves of fresh cabbage are tight and there is no sign of withering or discoloration. Avoid buying cabbage with wormholes or damage.

2. Remove the outer blade

The outer leaves of cabbage often wither and deteriorate easily. Therefore, before preserving cabbage, use a sharp knife to remove the outside leaves.

Keep the cabbage dry.

Moisture is a hotbed of bacteria. Before storing cabbage, wipe the surface of cabbage with a dry cloth or paper towel to remove excess water.

Wrap in paper towels

Wrap cabbage with some clean paper towels to absorb excess water and prevent bacteria from growing. Paper towels need to be changed regularly to keep the cabbage dry.

Cold storage

Put the wrapped cabbage in a fresh-keeping bag or box, and then store it in the refrigerator. Refrigeration temperature is helpful to inhibit the growth of bacteria and prolong the shelf life of Chinese cabbage.

6. Frozen storage

If you need to keep Chinese cabbage for a longer time, you can consider freezing it. Cut the cabbage into shreds or pieces, then put them into fresh-keeping bags or boxes and seal them in the freezer of the refrigerator. Frozen cabbage can be kept for up to 6 months.

7. Regular inspection

Check chilled or frozen cabbages regularly to make sure there are no signs of decay and deterioration. If you find the cabbage discolored, moldy or smelly, please discard it immediately.

According to the above method, Chinese cabbage can be preserved for up to two months, which can not only maintain the nutritional value of Chinese cabbage, but also avoid waste.
