Baduanjin, a kind of health qigong, originated from the introduction of ancient China.

These movements, and most of them are simple and easy to do, have no special requirements for human limbs and physical fitness. At the beginning, it doesn't matter if the action is not in place. Fourth, it is not limited by the venue. Baduanjin has a small movement range and the required space is very limited, especially the horizontal Baduanjin, which can be used in one bed. Fifth, it is suitable for men, women and children. The concept, function and requirements of Baduanjin determine this point. Fundamentally speaking, it is integration, coordination and tolerance, and there is no restriction on the practice crowd. In terms of movements, there are no dangerous and difficult movements, and everyone can practice. As far as requirements are concerned, speaking is gradual and persistent. As long as you keep your mind at peace and practice slowly, you will gain from practice and gain from long practice.

Baduanjin has the above advantages. As long as you practice, you will gain something, but the gains are often quite different. After practicing for a year, I have done well in persistence and seriousness, but some of them are mentally strong and have no illness, some of them have only slightly improved their physical fitness, and even their interest is getting less and less strong, and even they have doubts about the efficacy of Baduanjin. What is the real reason for this result? That is:

An expert watches the doorway, a layman watches the excitement. Although the shape is similar, it hasn't arrived yet. In a word, I don't know the trick, but I don't understand the reason.

There is a saying in the Jianghu that it is difficult to buy a thousand dollars if you don't know it, and it is worthless to point it out. That is, the trick is the key, and the key is not the difficulty, but whether you realize the key. Watching another person do an action, you can't see the operation of breath and idea from the appearance, and even the subtle differences of action, and most people can't understand it. As far as Baduanjin is concerned, there are four tips:

The first is to deeply understand the connotation of "your soul comes from flesh and blood". To put it simply, this sentence emphasizes that kindness is the main thing, flesh and blood is the vice, and flesh and blood should be guided by God. Baduanjin, as a kind of health qigong, should pay attention to the heart in practice, so as to achieve the harmony between god and heart, heart and qi, and qi and strength, instead of deliberately emphasizing whether the shape of the action is in place. Seeking truth from facts in form is impossible in the end; Seek form by reality, not by itself.

The second is to accurately understand the meaning of "action practice function". Do everything with a clear purpose, and then make measures according to the purpose. This is the so-called targeted. For example, "Shake your head and wag your tail to get rid of heart fire" in the vertical eight-paragraph brocade. Literally, "wagging one's head and wagging one's tail" is the means, and "getting rid of one's heart fire" is the purpose. Then we thought, why can "wagging your head and tail" drive away the heart fire? It turns out that Chinese medicine says that "kidney governs water" and "heart governs fire", and "kidney water" should be used to extinguish "heart fire". If you want to put out the fire with water, you should water it from above. So the trick of this style is to keep the head as low as possible during the swing, the lower the better, at least lower than the kidneys.

The third is to properly resolve the contradiction between "primary and secondary actions". We know that in a move, some moves are the key, and some just play the role of series, so as to make the whole movement coherent and smooth. The key to the action must be practiced well, and the serial action cannot be distracted. Still taking the vertical eight-section brocade as an example, "saving fists and glaring to increase strength" is literally an action, and "increasing strength" is the purpose. There are two moves, so which is the key: "saving the fist" or "glaring"? Whatever you do, you can't increase your strength. It's just the result of "muscle tension" caused by "saving boxing"

The fourth is to correctly handle the mutual transformation of "training and perception". Baduanjin is a fitness technique. Strictly speaking, it is not martial arts, nor is it a family boxing. But the Tao is like heaven, and the law is like heaven. Not much training but good. Practice and enlightenment complement each other. Practice that you don't understand is the repetition of Jane, and practice is external. Without practice, enlightenment will be divorced from practice and become a rootless tree and passive water. Only by practicing while understanding, seeking enlightenment in practice, correcting mistakes through enlightenment and proving achievements through enlightenment can we achieve great success.
