Does life lie in exercise or rest? 1500 The old man gave the answer.
10 year 10 On 7 October, the British Medical Journal (BMJ) published a research result. From 20 12, Norwegian researchers invited 1567 elderly people aged 70 to 77 to participate in the study. The researchers divided them into three groups and trained them at different intensities within five years.
The "4×4 interval method" of high-intensity interval group is carried out twice a week, that is, four minutes of high-intensity exercise is a group, interspersed with rest periods, and the heart rate reaches 90% of the maximum heart rate;
The moderate exercise group carries out moderate intensity training twice a week for 50 minutes each time, and the heart rate reaches 70% of the maximum heart rate;
Another group, as the control group, did self-exercise, which was not mandatory and only required regular physical examination.
Five years later, the elderly who participated in the high-intensity interval group were better in mental state and physical state than the other two groups, and their physical quality was also better. After participating in the study for 5 years, 3% of the elderly in the high-intensity intermittent group died, 6% in the moderate exercise group and only 4.5% in the control group.
Why is the survival rate of the control group higher than that of the moderate exercise group? This is because the elderly in the control group take the initiative to exercise even if no one urges them. According to statistics, there are 1/5 elderly people in the control group who actively adhere to regular high-intensity exercise, and some elderly people exercise more than the moderate exercise group. "Regular physical examination" encourages them to exercise.
