When did Pu 'er tea paste come into being?
Pu 'er tea paste flourished in the Tang Dynasty. According to Wu Renchen's "The Spring and Autumn Period of Ten Kingdoms", as early as the second year of the Southern Tang Dynasty, there was a tribute from tea cream, that is, "tea cream, Gongjianzhou, had a peculiar smell and was covered with gold thread, named Nai Zhong Er, with eight pieces". According to the data, tea cream is decorated with gold thread to show its value, and its output is very small, only eight pieces. Tea makers in Song Dynasty believed that "paste" in tea was the treasure of tea. They used a pressing process, first steaming the tea, and then "washing it several times". tea cream was successfully separated from the tea and made into independent products.

During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with the gradual prosperity of Yunnan Pu 'er tea industry, Yunnan tea people pioneered the production process of Pu 'er tea paste, which used firewood to heat a large iron pot, that is, the method of boiling tea paste in a large pot. This method is still used by some tea farmers and Pu 'er tea paste manufacturers. During the reign of Yongzheng and Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty, the tea maker learned from the process of "small squeezing to remove water, big squeezing to extract paste" in the Song Dynasty, and adopted a set of high-quality Yunnan tribute tea as the medium, and rosewood as the carbon medium, keeping the appropriate temperature, so that the contents of tea were precipitated, and then concentrated into paste by evaporation.

Therefore, Pu 'er tea paste developed from Tang Dynasty to Song Dynasty and flourished in Qing Dynasty. Pu 'er tea cream, as a special health care product for the royal family, is unknown to ordinary people, so it has never been known.
