Morality and kindness lead to longevity.
Confucian health preservation is first of all to rebuild the mind and morality, and it is believed that people with kindness will live longer. That is, the so-called "benevolent people live long" ("The Analects of Confucius Yong Ye Liu"). So, what is benevolence? Confucius said "love". That is to say, only those who are full of love can reach the realm of "benevolence" "Fan Chi asks for benevolence, and Confucius says: love" (Article 12 of The Analects of Confucius and Yan Yuan). Mencius further confirmed: "Benevolence, human heart also" (Mencius Zhang Wan). It seems that the Confucian "benevolence" is human nature, love and human heart.
Only those who have true love and sincerity will have the virtue of "benevolence". So, what is "virtue"? Confucianism compares man to a big tree. Virtue is the root of a tree and the foundation of being a man, and wealth is only the branch of a tree. "Virtue, this also; The rich will eventually be rewarded "("University Interpretation of "Governing the Country and Leveling the World" "). Only when the roots are deep can the trees flourish. People with high moral character will be praised by the society and respected by the world, and then they will gain real wealth, health and longevity. Therefore, Confucianism believes that "benevolence" is the foundation of virtue, and virtue is the foundation of human beings. This is the principle of dealing with people. "Benevolent people are rich in their wealth, while unkind people are rich in their health" (university interpretation of "Governing the country and calming the world").
Rich people often think of how to decorate luxurious houses first and live comfortably, but their hearts are empty and they often worry about money. A virtuous person is broad-minded, cheerful and aboveboard, and never does anything against his will. They are naturally happy, can eat and sleep, so they are naturally in good health. "Rich house, virtuous body, broad-minded and fat, so a gentleman must be sincere" (Interpretation of Chengzhang University).
Water has the virtue of tolerance, so people with noble virtues often learn from water and often encourage themselves. Only in this way can they be ambitious and be good at dealing with the world. The mountains are magnificent and often loved by benevolent people. Only people who are as broad-minded as mountains can seize the opportunity and be invincible. Smart people often exercise, which not only exercises their bodies but also enhances their brain wisdom. A gentleman who is indifferent to fame and fortune likes to live a quiet and leisurely life, never does anything against morality, and never lets worldly troubles bind him. Therefore, smart people are always happy and have no worries.
People who are full of love, who can contribute to society and the public, and who do more good deeds will certainly live a long life. Confucius said: "The knower enjoys water, the benevolent enjoys Leshan, the knower moves, the benevolent is quiet, the knower enjoys life" (The Analects of Confucius, No.6). So how can we achieve the heart of "benevolent love" and live a long life? Mencius said: people should strive to preserve their goodness, cultivate their morality, strengthen their moral cultivation, do more useful things and treat their destiny correctly. This is the law of natural development. No matter how long people live, they should have a normal mind, and a healthy body and mind is the way to cultivate themselves. "Raise its heart, raise its sex, and everything in the world is like this. Don't die young, cultivate one's morality, so make a life "("Mencius devoted himself to every sentence "). Mencius also said: A person's fortunes are not without reason, but come from his own actions. Good people are rewarded, and bad people are in trouble. Therefore, a person's blessings and misfortunes are all brought by himself. "No one can ask for it" ("The Ugliness of Mencius and Gongsun").
Be careful of making friends, and be in good health.
Confucianism not only attaches importance to self-cultivation, but also reminds people to have correct ideas in making friends and living, because these negative effects also directly affect people's mental outlook and physical health. On making friends, Confucius said: There are three kinds of beneficial friends and three kinds of harmful friends. It is good to make friends with honest people, honest people and knowledgeable people. On the contrary, it is harmful to make friends with hypocrites, flatterers and glib people. Confucius said, "The winner has three friends, but the loser has three friends. Friends are frank, friends forgive and friends listen more, which is beneficial. Friends will be withdrawn, friends will be soft, and friends will be destroyed "(The Analects of Confucius Ji XVI).
Confucius also pointed out that there are three kinds of beneficial happiness and three kinds of harmful happiness in life. Take the joy of adjusting life as happiness. Open-minded, not jealous of others' success, and happy to praise others' advantages. Make more good friends who can distinguish right from wrong and are willing to help others as happiness. This is beneficial. Take the behavior that likes arrogance, recklessness, disregard for social morality and willfulness as happiness; Take the behavior of indulging in wandering, idling, eating all day and being careless as happiness; Take the behavior that likes to feast all night, indulge in debauchery, indulge in debauchery and lose morality as happiness.
These are behaviors that harm both society and oneself. Confucius said, "The winner has three pleasures, and the loser has three pleasures. Music festivals, rituals and music, the kindness of Taoist people, and more virtuous friends are beneficial. Music, music, music, music, loss "("The Analects of Confucius Ji Shi XVI "). Confucius not only praised some fine styles beneficial to society and health. It also denounced some selfish, hypocritical and cunning people and bad behaviors that affected the normal order of society. Warn people what to do and what not to do. Only by knowing what not to do can you make a difference. Mencius said, "People do something but don't do it" (Chapter of Mencius Yelou).
Confucianism not only reshapes the mind, but also reshapes the body. Self-cultivation and self-cultivation are the way to make a living. Only when a person has a healthy body can he give full play to his intelligence, so self-cultivation is indispensable. Therefore, Confucius believes that there are three major events in a person's life that should be constantly vigilant. When you are young, your blood gas is unstable. You should be alert to lust, cherish the essence, care for your health and have a healthy body. In the prime of life, you are full of blood and energy. You should be alert and competitive. Don't quarrel over trifles or even fight with each other, which is not good for yourself and others. When you are old, you should be alert to greed, always have a normal mind, don't care about gains and losses, always keep a psychological balance, be happy and have a cheerful personality, so that you can live a long and healthy life.
Confucius said, "A gentleman has three precepts. When you are young, your blood gas is uncertain. It is also strong and bloody, and it is fighting. I am also old, my blood is failing, and I am abstaining from sex ("The Analects of Confucius", article 16). Why enlightened ancient people can live a long and healthy life is because they pay attention to health preservation, so they live a long life and enjoy human happiness and food for a long time. Why is this? It is because they can establish the concept of abstinence and longevity as soon as possible, know how to take care of their bodies and their energy, so their energy will not be exhausted.
Man and nature are closely linked. Although all things have different forms, they all communicate with human beings and live together in nature. Therefore, in ancient times, people who cultivated themselves, managed the country and leveled the world all followed the example of heaven and earth. "The enlightened ancients were born with a long life, and the taste of debauchery can be enjoyed for a long time. So what? If you decide early, you will know how to increase it, and if you know how to increase it, you will be inexhaustible ... People are like heaven and earth. Although the shapes of everything are different, their feelings are one. Therefore, those who govern the body and the world in ancient times must learn heaven and earth ("Lv Chunqiu Lust").
Confucius not only paid attention to spiritual cultivation and physical cultivation, but also attached great importance to daily life and diet. He likes food with fine workmanship, and he is strict with knives. Shredded pork should be thin and symmetrical. First, we must achieve good shape, color and taste. This will increase appetite, make people look satisfied and eat well.
Never eat food that has deteriorated for a long time, food that has changed color and odor, food that fails to meet the edible requirements, meat that reduces the quality of dishes after cooking, meat that does not meet the requirements of the specification, and food that does not match the main course and seasoning. Eat less meat and more staple food at the banquet, drink but don't get drunk, and don't eat wine and cooked meat bought casually from the market, although there are some condiments on the table. "Eat fine, eat fine. The fish is hungry, the meat is ruined, and I don't eat it. Evil color, no food. Smelly, do not eat. No food, no food. From time to time, there is no food. Don't eat it if it's not cut properly. No sauce, no food. Although there is a lot of meat, there is nothing better than eating. There is no limit to wine, and it is not chaotic. It sells aged wine, not food. Don't eat ginger, don't eat more "("The Analects of Confucius Nostalgia X ").
He also believes that even in daily life, there are many places related to health care, which not only require high diet, but also meet the health care requirements for sleeping posture and dressing. If you sleep, don't lie on your back for a long time like the dead, which will hinder the transportation and breathing of internal organs and cause adverse consequences. The correct posture should be lying on your side, and the right side is better. This will not put pressure on the heart and make breathing normal. Furthermore, you should relax at home and give yourself a free space, which is good for your health. "If you don't sleep and have no body, you can't live there" (The Analects of Confucius, The Tenth Difficult Emergence).
Heaven and man are one, and sincerity is the spirit.
So how can we enter the best requirements and state of health care? First of all, we need to have a happy mood, that is, a happy mood and a calm mind. And this kind of emotion comes from a peaceful state of mind, and a peaceful state of mind comes from Tao, which is nature. So we should be close to nature and understand it. Although it can't see, hear or describe its shape, it does exist.
If you can be integrated with this "Tao", that is, nature, you will be able to avoid disasters, enjoy life and preserve your nature. "Happiness is born in peace and born in Tao. He who knows can't see or hear. People who know what they can't see, smell, and have no shape are few and far between ... people who can heal their bodies in one dose and avoid disasters all their lives "(Lv Chunqiu Da Le). To achieve this state, we must first have sincerity, and sincerity can make us have a correct mind. Only when we have a correct mind can we improve our moral cultivation. Besides correcting your own mind, you should be sincere and have a clear understanding, and the way to achieve this is to study the principle of things. "To cultivate one's morality, be upright first; If you want to be correct, be sincere first; If you want to be sincere, you must know it first, and you must know it in style "(university classics). Therefore, as long as you have a sincere heart to seriously think and experience, you will understand the mystery and achieve the effect of "the nature of survival".
