The Wushu organizational system supported by Wushu and traditional national sports specialty (professional code 040204K) of Wuhan Institute of Physical Education originated from the activity game teaching and research room at the beginning of the establishment of 1953. The main founder of its major is Professor Wen Jingming, a famous martial arts educator in China. 1956 set up Wushu in Wuzhong Teaching and Research Section, 1972 changed it to Wushui Teaching and Research Section, 1978 began to recruit and train master students, 1965438 set up its own teaching and research section, and 1 took the lead in setting up Wushu Department in China. The teaching unit consists of four teaching and research sections: Wushu routine, fighting, Wushu theory and traditional sports health preservation, folk sports.
At present, the discipline construction bases include the National Wushu Sanda Senior Coach Training Base, the National Wushu School Training Base, the National Youth Wushu Sanda Athletes Training Base, the Dragon and Lion Association Research Base, and the National Fitness Qigong Training Base. These bases have laid a solid foundation for the teaching and scientific research of this major. Its major has formed a multi-level education system of doctor, master, full-time undergraduate and adult education; With master's degree awarding points in two disciplines and doctoral degree awarding points in two disciplines, it is a brand building major in Hubei Province. In 20 13, the first batch of comprehensive reform pilots for undergraduate majors in provincial universities were approved. Graduates of this major are employed in various schools, sports teams, clubs, public security, armed police, justice, enterprises and other related units.

This major cultivates the all-round development of morality, intelligence, physique and beauty, and systematically grasps the basic theories, knowledge and skills of Wushu and national traditional sports; Have the basic literacy of China traditional culture, strong practical ability and innovative spirit; Can inherit Wushu and national traditional sports culture, promote the healthy development of the public, and undertake the application-oriented professionals in the fields of Wushu, China traditional sports health preservation, national folk sports and other fields, such as school teaching, professional training, social sports guidance, scientific research and related management.

1. Seriously study Marxism, Mao Zedong Thought and Deng Xiaoping Theory, and learn from Theory of Three Represents and Scientific Outlook on Development. Have good civic awareness and professional ethics, be able to devote themselves to traditional national sports and actively serve socialist modernization;
2. On the premise of highlighting the characteristics of Wushu culture, selectively offer general courses of basic theoretical knowledge and sports skills of modern sports science, basically master popular sports events in society, and lay a good foundation for students to adapt to social needs;
3. Systematically study the theories and methods of Wushu and traditional national sports, master the basic skills of my chosen major, and fully understand the basic knowledge of teaching, training, competition, judging, scientific research and management to meet the needs of future work;
4. Through course study and practical teaching, students can meet the requirements of the Four Meetings: "being able to practice" and having a high technical level; "Knowing how to teach" has a strong ability to organize teaching and management; "Talking", with good oral expression skills; "Can write", with good writing skills;

Six, years of study, graduation credits and degrees awarded
The normal study period for undergraduates majoring in Wushu and traditional national sports is 4 years (according to the regulations on student status management, it can be 1 year in advance or 1-2 years later), and they must complete 174 credits before graduation. Among them, compulsory 140 credits (including 32 credits for practical teaching) and elective 34 credits. Students who meet the graduation requirements after completing their studies will be awarded an undergraduate diploma; Graduates who meet the degree requirements are awarded a bachelor's degree in education.
