What schools are there in free medical colleges?
This year, 565,438+0 universities such as Lanzhou University, Shihezi University and Hebei Medical University enrolled 5,000 free medical students from 24 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in the central and western regions. These free medical students mainly come from the rural grassroots in the contracted areas in the central and western regions. During their stay at school, they will enjoy free tuition and accommodation fees, and will also receive living allowances.

In recent years, the facilities and conditions of primary medical and health institutions in China have been obviously improved, but the construction of talent team is relatively backward, and the problems such as insufficient quantity, low quality and unstable team are more prominent, which have become the bottleneck restricting the service and level improvement of primary medical and health institutions in China.

In order to solve the problem of rural grassroots health talents, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Health, the Central Organizing Committee, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security jointly proposed that 300,000 general practitioners should be trained through various channels by 2020, and it is determined that oriented medical students should be trained in medical colleges and universities for the central and western regions for three consecutive years from this year.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC), for free medical students, the central government subsidizes the living expenses according to the standard of 6,000 yuan per student per year, while the local finance mainly subsidizes tuition fees and accommodation fees. Free medical students are divided into 5-year undergraduate and 3-year junior college, with 5-year undergraduate as the main one. After graduation, students need to serve in targeted units for more than 6 years.

According to the requirements of the Ministry of Education, free medical students will be trained in accordance with the development direction of general practitioners. Schools undertaking training tasks will formulate teaching plans according to the needs of rural health work, strengthen students' practical teaching links, and highlight the cultivation of clinical ability. The national development and reform commission and other departments require all localities to reserve in advance according to the graduation time of free medical students to ensure that free medical students work in township hospitals as agreed after graduation.

All localities and relevant departments attach great importance to the work of free medical students and have formulated supporting policies. Jiangxi proposed that starting from this year, the provincial finance will arrange special subsidy funds every year to reduce the tuition and miscellaneous fees of directional medical students during their study; Directional free medical students can enjoy the same treatment as graduates recruited by the state, and can also enjoy preferential policies for graduates below township level. In some areas, the policy explicitly requires that free medical students be included in the establishment management to ensure that students have jobs in township hospitals.
