Health-preserving wine is a wonderful recipe for imperial meals in the Tang Dynasty. It follows the practice of Zhang Zhongjing, a medical sage in the Han Dynasty, and combines the folk brewing methods in western Shaanxi, which were known as "Changshou Village", "Changshou Cave" and "Changshou Weng" at that time. It was specially prepared for Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, and he named it wine. Later, health wine was mostly enjoyed by emperors in past dynasties, and it was used to concentrate on prolonging life.
