Do you know how to control the rhythm of ballroom dancing for entertainment and health?
Social dance, no matter what kind of dance, no matter how complicated, comes out step by step. And every step includes speed, distance and direction. We summarize it as "pace, interval and direction", which are the three elements of gait.

1. rhythm

Pace refers to the speed of walking, which is an element of the concept of time in dance steps. The steps of ballroom dancing include routine step, trot, slow step, super trot, extended step and "static" step.

(1) constant step size. This is the basic pace determined according to the specific situation of different dance music. That is to say, in different dance music, dancers must first determine a constant step that matches the rhythm of the dance music according to the different beats of the dance music. Taking this constant number of steps as the "standard unit", we can compare the changes of dance speed. What we usually say "Are you on the right beat" refers to whether the dancer's routine steps are accurate or not.

(2) trotting. Trot is a faster pace than normal pace. Generally, the conventional pace takes a period of time, which we call "conventional pace", and the trot is 1/2 conventional pace.

(3) walk slowly. A slow pace is a pace that is slower than the normal pace. Generally speaking, the normal pace is 1 and the slow pace is 1+ 1.

(4) Super trot. Measured at a constant pace, this is still faster than a trot. An ultra-trot only needs 1/4 constant steps, or even less.

(5) lengthen the step size. This is a special step. It is neither a constant pace nor a slow pace. Usually it is a dance step that is a little longer than the normal pace, about 1.5 paced hours.

(6) "static" step. This is also a special step. There is no absolute stillness in ballroom dancing, only relative stillness. The so-called "the tree wants to be quiet but the wind will not stop" seems to be motionless but feels moving.
