Located in Weichang County, northern Hebei Province, Luanhe River Nature Reserve is a crisscross zone between Inner Mongolia Plateau and northern Hebei Mountains, 384Km away from Beijing and 53 km away from Chengde 102700 hectares. Xiaoluan River, Yimatu River and Yixun River are the main rivers in Luanhe River system. The nature reserve has beautiful ecological environment, beautiful natural scenery, rich biological resources and a long history and culture. It belongs to forest and wildlife nature reserve, and it is also the largest nature reserve in Hebei Province. The nature reserve in the upper reaches of Luanhe River is the core area of the royal hunting garden in Qing Dynasty. It is like a green pearl embedded in the mountains beyond the Great Wall.

There are four national key protected plants such as Juglans mandshurica and Acanthopanax senticosus in the nature reserve in the upper reaches of Luanhe River, and various ornamental plants are distributed all over the region. There are 5 species of national first-class protected animals such as golden eagle and leopard, and 39 species of national second-class protected animals such as salmon, swan and mandarin duck. The unique and charming natural landscape, profound cultural heritage and rich species resources are formed by the specific geographical location, making it a unique eco-tourism resort and an ideal place for photography. The establishment and restoration of the nature reserve in the upper reaches of Luanhe River has strengthened the ecological construction in the northern part of Beijing, promoted the local economic and social development, and further spread the Mulan autumn culture. The nature reserve is rich in wildlife resources, including higher plants 153 families, 509 genera 169 1 species, including national protected plants 12 species, belonging to terrestrial wildlife 10 families 150 species or subspecies. Among them, there are 693 species of plants belonging to 382 genera in 96 families, including 7 families 10 genera 2 1 species, and 235 species of terrestrial wild animals belonging to 67 families 145 genera in 4 classes, including 40 species of national key protected animals. Common animal species are white-crowned pheasant, white crane, impala, goshawk, grass _, prairie eagle, long-eared pheasant, eagle _, black stork, red horn _, kestrel, gray crane, lynx, vulture, rabbit, swallow falcon and so on.
