It is characterized by restlessness, insomnia, redness and thirst, yellow urine, or sores on the mouth and tongue. Treat with clearing away heat and calming the heart. Optional:

1) Daochi Pill: contains Radix Rehmanniae, Caulis Akebiae and Radix Glycyrrhizae. Oral, each time 1 capsule, 2-3 times a day. Decoct with bamboo leaves 10g.

2) Huanglian Shangqing Pill: contains 15 herbs including Huanglian, Cortex Phellodendri, Scutellariae Radix, Fructus Gardeniae, Fructus Forsythiae and Herba Menthae. Oral, each time 1 capsule, with boiled water.

Lung fire:

It is characterized by dry cough without phlegm, or blood in sputum, sore throat, hoarseness, hot flashes and night sweats. Treat with nourishing yin and clearing heat. Optional:

1) Jinqing Powder: Self-made prescription, which has the effect of clearing lung and reducing fire. In the prescription, 9 parts of gypsum and 0 part of indigo naturalis/kloc-were ground and mixed evenly, wrapped in gauze and decocted twice in water.

2) Maiwei Dihuang Pill: Liuwei Dihuang Pill with Ophiopogon japonicus and Schisandra chinensis. Oral, each time 1 capsule, three times a day, with boiled water.

Stomach fire:

It is characterized by noisy upper abdomen, overeating, hunger, dry mouth and bitter taste, dry stool and restlessness. Nourishing yin and benefiting stomach. Optional:

1) Niuhuangshangqing Pill: contains 2/kloc-0 kinds of Chinese medicines, such as Coptidis Rhizoma, Gypsum Fibrosum, Scutellariae Radix, Herba Menthae, Lotus Seeds, Platycodon Radix, Rhizoma Chuanxiong, Cortex Phellodendri, Schizonepeta, Gardenia, Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, Borneolum Syntheticum, and Calculus Bovis. Oral, each time 1 capsule, 2-3 times a day, with warm water.

2) Niuhuang Jiedu tablets: each tablet contains 0.25g of rhubarb, gypsum, scutellaria baicalensis, platycodon grandiflorum, licorice, realgar, borneol and bezoar. Take orally, 3 tablets each time, 3 times a day, and take it with warm water.
