Distinguish between young and old budgerigars
1. There are many stripes on the forehead of young birds, which gradually fade with age until they all fade in adulthood. There will be a solid color area on the head (yellow represents green and yellow, and white represents blue, white and gray); Old bird, the feathers around here are very messy.
2. The baby bird's eyes are all black and look very cute; White eyes will gradually appear in adulthood.
3. The beak tip of young birds is waxy yellow and black (most birds), and gradually turns grayish brown in adulthood, but the shell of patella is orange for life; Newborn birds may still be waxy yellow, but they will change color after a while, and some will change color as soon as they reach adulthood.
4. Young birds' feet are tender, usually pink, and the color doesn't change much when they are just adults, but after a while, the change is quite obvious, the claws become rough, and they won't be fleshy like young birds, and the color will become similar to blue ink. (Myth: Not all male birds will turn this color, some are gray. )
