19 15 Zou Yan was born in a poor peasant family in a village in Jiangxi Province. Because the family was poor, Zou Yan dropped out of school after five years of intermittent study. 1929, 14-year-old Zou Yan heard that there was a Red Army in the county and rushed to register, but because of his young age, he was not selected. After returning home, Zou Yan joined the children's league and took part in the anti-smoking movement.
His outstanding performance, ideological consciousness has been greatly improved, and he soon became a member of the Communist Youth League. 1930 was sent to the red army school by the Soviet government of Xingguo county to study, and finally realized the desire to join the red army. /kloc-joined the China * * * production party in 0/935. He participated in the 25,000-mile Long March and the first to fifth counter-campaigns in the Central Soviet Area.
During his work, Zou Yan was conscientious. He led troops to take part in Shangdang Campaign, liberated Jilin, besieged Changchun, and had a big battle in Liaoning and Shenyang. He made an important contribution to the liberation of Northeast China. After the liberation of Northeast China, he took part in the Battle of Ping Jin.
1955, Zou Yan was awarded the rank of Major General; 1988 was awarded the 3rd Class August 1st Medal, 2nd Class Medal of Independence and Freedom, 1st Class Medal of Liberation and 1st Class Medal of Red Star Meritorious Service. He was elected as a member of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection at the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and attended the 13th National Congress of the Party.
