Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, referred to as "Xin" for short, is People's Republic of China (PRC) Autonomous Region, the capital of Urumqi, located in the northwest of China, and one of the five minority autonomous regions in China. With an area of 1664900 square kilometers, it is the largest provincial administrative region in China, accounting for about one sixth of the total land area of China.
