Where is Shanghai Yejiayuan?-What's interesting?-Travel guide
When visiting the buildings in Yangpu District of Shanghai, most people will think of large public buildings such as Jiangwan Stadium or Yangpu Library. Shanghai Yejia Park is a relatively small scenic spot, located in pulmonary hospital, Yangpu District, Shanghai.

Hide such a garden, occupy a quiet place in the noise, and you can see the clear blue sky when you look up. In terms of architectural style, it combines Chinese and western styles, and the aesthetic taste of China classical gardens and the exquisite beauty of western style blend here, which embodies the unique design concept of that era.

The building itself

Yejiayuan was built by Yiquan (Jpua), the cotyledon of Ye Chengzhong, a giant in Zhenhai, Zhejiang, and is located at No.507, Zheng Min Road, pulmonary hospital, Shanghai. The pavilions, bridges, water, caves and valleys in the leaf garden are scattered in lakes, ponds and green island hills, forming a beautiful scenery. Entering from the main entrance of Yejia Garden, the first thing you see is a rockery, which forms a transitional space as a shadow wall. Because it looks like Lushan Mountain, it is called "Little Lushan Mountain". There is a lotus pond in front of the rockery, with two ponds on the left and right.

Walking along the main road of the garden, you can enter the largest main island in the middle of the garden lake through Taoqing Bridge. The main island is surrounded by water, and it is zigzag distributed with the two small islands next to it. Huxin Island is connected by six bridges with different shapes, creating a gradual viewing experience.

There is a small white building called Shuang Yan Pavilion on the island in the middle of the lake, which is the main building of Yejia Garden. The building is surrounded by water, and there are circular corridors in the east, south and west of the ground floor. The colonnade is cylindrical. Built in the 1920s, it has a classical style. There is an arc terrace on the second floor overlooking the whole garden.

There are many pavilions in the leaf garden, such as echo pavilion, cave and Sigong pavilion. Among them, there are both Chinese and western techniques, and each has its own characteristics. The artificial lake in the middle of the lake is around the island, pacing in the outer circle. Visitors can also enjoy the scenery of Liu Liting, Peony Pavilion, silver moon Pavilion, Fuhuling and Wollongong, which are in harmony with the ponds and pools in the park.

The garden is full of green leaves, lush green plants and rich varieties. Along the trail, cypress trees, pine trees, camphor trees, redwoods, palm trees and bamboo bushes abound, which makes people feel relaxed and happy.

Yeyuan was announced as a cultural relics protection unit in Yangpu District on February 20 1 1.

Building renovation

In recent years, Yangpu District has carried out protective renovation of Ye Jia Garden. The repair team will investigate the buildings (structures) that need to be repaired on site one by one. According to different damage conditions, combined with the design drawings and text requirements, the cultural relics management department organizes experts to prepare and evaluate the corresponding special construction plan for cultural relics restoration, and the restoration samples can only be constructed after expert argumentation.

There are many kinds of buildings (structures) repaired this time, including key protection contents, repair types and building materials. Including five bridges and six garden buildings, such as gazebo, porch, gatehouse, watchtower and Building 9. Five bridges with serious structural damage were reinforced in the park, and the damaged bridge deck railings and lamp posts were repaired.

Due to disrepair, the structures, roofs, facades, interior walls and floors of many exhibition halls in the park have been damaged to varying degrees. Without damaging the overall structure of the pavilion, the builders repaired the damaged part, replaced the rotten rafters, repaired the pavilion roof and repainted the pavilion.

Through this original transformation, the safety performance of buildings (structures) has been improved, the historical features of gardens have been restored and the overall environment of hospitals has been improved. It has made a good demonstration for the organic integration of medical and health buildings with historical and cultural heritage and Shanghai-style gardens.

Architectural story

1908, Yiquan Ye Chengzhong's cotyledon (Jpua) founded Jiangwan Racecourse, a racecourse of China people.

1923, Ye Yiquan set aside some funds from horse racing profits to build a place for horse racing gamblers to rest. There are billiards rooms, Yao Palace, dance halls, cinemas, golf courses and other entertainment places, which are very lively, and are called "Night Garden", that is, "Yejia Garden". Covers an area of 77.636 mu. Yeyuan is a garden with China traditional style and western-style architectural decoration. The whole garden is oval from east to west, with lush flowers and trees, rugged rocks and sparkling islands. There are three big islands in the Garden Lake, criss-crossing, and the islands and the ring roads are connected by pavilions and bridges, which constitute the grand scenery of the whole garden.

1933 the chairman of citronella soap company lives beside the garden for nothing. Lei Bai protested to the authorities that Ye Jia Garden disturbed the tranquility of the house, and the municipal authorities forced the "night garden" to close.

In the same year, the Shanghai Special Municipal Government set up a municipal club in Yejia Garden, which changed from a private garden to the first park in Shanghai, and opened to the public regularly to entertain foreign guests.

Ye Ziheng studied at St. John's University in his early years, and his teacher was Yan Fuqing, then president of the National Shanghai Medical College. In 1933, Yan talked about the urgent need for medical college to establish a hospital to treat tuberculosis patients. After hearing this, Ye was deeply moved. Coupled with his enthusiastic education, he generously donated the garden to the National Shanghai Medical College and set up the second practice hospital. After several months of preparation, the hospital was formally established on June 15. The original houses, pavilions, carports and stables in the wild park have been used as wards, and several wards have been built. The garden ushered in its new era. In memory of Ye's late father, the hospital is also known as the Lung Disease Sanatorium of National Shanghai Medical College.

1949 Shanghai was liberated. In mid-July, the sanatorium was taken over by the Municipal Military Management Committee. Later, it was placed under the leadership of Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau, and Chengzhong Hospital was renamed as "Shanghai Chengzhong Tuberculosis Prevention Hospital". The Health Bureau allocated funds to improve the environment of Yejia Garden to meet the convalescent needs of hospitalized patients. 1959 was changed to Shanghai No.1 Tuberculosis Hospital, and now it is Shanghai No.1 pulmonary hospital.
