Gastrodia elata is mainly produced in Yunnan, with good shape, good medicinal quality and high dry rate, but its adaptability is small, meristem is poor and yield is low. Red gastrodia elata is mainly produced in the Three Gorges area, with wide adaptability, high yield, strong reproduction and strong disease resistance, but the dry-wet ratio is large, and the medicinal quality is worse than that of black gastrodia elata. Black-red hybrid gastrodia elata is a hybrid of Yunnan black gastrodia elata inbred line and Three Gorges red gastrodia elata inbred line, which combines the advantages of both parents: strong resistance to pests and diseases, good appearance, and medicinal quality, that is, gastrodin content, is as high as 0.08%, which is 60.24% higher than that of black gastrodia elata and more than twice as high as that of red gastrodia elata; The yield of black-red hybrid gastrodia elata is 7.5 kg per square meter, which is 4 kg higher than that of black-red gastrodia elata and 2 kg higher than that of red gastrodia elata, and its growth cycle is similar to that of black-red gastrodia elata.
