Times: Eastern Zhou Dynasty and Han Dynasty

Address: Dongtai, Gucheng Natural Village, Chengbei Village, Longquan Town, Xixian County, Linfen City

The overall shape of the ancient city village site is unknown, and the city walls are mostly built according to the terrain. There are several existing east and south city walls of ancient cities. The rammed soil composition of the city wall is pure, the diameter of rammed nest is about 4 cm and the rammed layer is 7- 10 cm. In the northeast corner of the city site, there is an approximately circular rammer platform with a height of about 5 meters and a circumference of about 55-60 meters. The rammed soil layer is about 10 cm thick, and the widest part is about 8m. There are no pottery fragments and other relics on the platform, but a large number of rope-patterned tiles are distributed below the platform. The cultural accumulation in the ancient city is heavy, mostly plain or rope patterns.

The existing Dongcheng Wall is also the longest preserved section of the city wall, with a height of 3-4 meters and a top width of more than 5 meters. Generally speaking, the East City Wall is more than 600 meters long from north to south. "Ancient City Village Site" is located in the south, with rich cultural layers, mainly semi-circular plain tiles and round tiles, as well as extremely common slate tiles. The era is the Warring States and the Han Dynasty. More importantly, it also collected a fragment of the "Wan" ring tile in the Western Han Dynasty. The full text is "Long live the Millennium". This kind of auspicious words are not found in ordinary residential buildings, which shows that this ancient city was in the Western Han Dynasty.

The site has existing city walls and rammed earth relics, and its cultural accumulation is heavy. There are many relics in the city, including plain half tiles, rope tiles and a small number of painted pottery pieces. This site is related to the "Puyang Ancient City" in the Warring States and Han Dynasties. It is a well-preserved typical city site in Lvliang Mountain area in western Shanxi, which is of great value to the study of the layout of the city site at that time.
