Chengdu Tongrentang was founded in Qianlong five years of Qing Dynasty (1740), and has gone through 266 spring and autumn years. At that time, its name was "Chen Tongrentang Old Shop", and its founder was just a drug dealer selling plasters in Chengdu. 1980- 10 Chen Tongrentang organically combined Chinese medicine with Chinese food, mainly promoting China medicated diet, and renamed it "Chengdu Tongrentang Nourishing Pharmacy". 1988, Chengdu Tongrentang resumed its time-honored signboard and officially renamed "Chengdu Tongrentang Nourishing Pharmacy" as "Chengdu Tongrentang", which is now a wholly-owned enterprise under Chengdu Derentang Group. Chengdu Tongrentang and Beijing Tongrentang have similar names. In fact, there is no historical origin between the two, which can only be said to be "pure coincidence".
