Taiji softball is a new national sport. In recent years, with the vigorous promotion of national fitness activities, this sport has developed rapidly. This sport is suitable for a wide range of people, and people of different ages and sexes can participate.

Taiji softball is mainly divided into two categories, one is fancy softball and the other is tennis softball. Five years ago, I came into contact with this sport. Previously, I was mainly engaged in traditional martial arts, such as Taiji, Xingyiquan, Bagua, Yiquan, Pushing Hands, Wrestling, Sanda and so on.

At first, I learned Fancy (participated in the Beijing Fancy Softball National Training Course), and then I gradually fell in love with this sport, with the strength and toughness of Tai Ji Chuan. Later, in order to meet the needs of teaching (provincial university for the aged) and to further study this sport, I made a special trip to Sichuan on 20 19 to participate in the national training course of tennis and softball organized by China Senior Sports Association.

Through further study of softball and years of traditional martial arts teaching, I have a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of Taiji softball in health care and fitness.

What we see in parks and squares now are mostly middle-aged and old friends who play fancy softball, and we rarely see tennis players. So in the eyes of ordinary people, playing softball seems a bit like holding a racket similar to badminton in your hand and holding a ball around your head in the racket. In fact, there are many ways to play softball, and its essence lies in the confrontation of tennis softball.

The essence of softball is Tai Chi. Only when we understand the circle, can holding the ball "receiving, leading, flying and throwing" conform to Tai Ji Chuan's principle and method, that is, Taiji soft ball, and the racket in our hands is called an instrument, which is just an extension of the arm. At present, most players who play softball, especially those who play fancy ball, lack an important link-"emptiness". Tai Ji Chuan pays attention to the whole body, making the innate strength of the body become the organic unified strength of Tai Chi, that is, the overall strength. Playing softball also requires Tai Chi strength. When the body has Tai Chi strength, you can appreciate the subtlety of "emptiness".

Many people think that catching competitive softball is a little more exercise than fancy softball. The reason is that we must have a strong and upward energy in the process of swinging and throwing the ball, and doing "empty" is its important content, so the flexibility of joints is extremely demanding. This, in turn, will promote us to strengthen the coordinated training of related joint sports chains and the muscle strength training around the joints. Such as neck, shoulder, wrist, waist (sacrum), vertebra, knee, ankle and other joints.
