Taoism is an inherent religion in China, with immortality as its highest belief. It educates believers with immortality, persuades people to become immortals through health preservation and moral cultivation, and finally gets rid of death and seeks eternity. Taoism has been engaged in or participated in funerals since its formation. China people attach great importance to health preservation and death, and demand that it be manifested through certain ceremonies, mainly to make the dead get peace. At the same time, they demand that people and ghosts go their separate ways, so that the shadow of death will no longer cover the living and ensure the safety of the living. At the same time, the ancients paid attention to the fact that the deceased could go to heaven and be with gods and ancestors. The early Taoist sects mainly engaged in folk activities, so it is almost proper to participate in folk funerals. For example, the lifting of the tomb door (a magical ceremony for the tomb of the dead, intended to separate people from ghosts, but also including the function of the town tomb) and the lifting of the reunion (so that the bad luck that caused death will not interfere with the living) are routine activities. In the later development, the connotation of funeral gradually highlights the theme of filial piety. It is emphasized that through Taoist practice, the dead can ascend to heaven as soon as possible, and the dead ancestors can get rid of the torture of ghosts as soon as possible.

Local Taoism is a kind of door burial, commonly known as "Dojo". Its specific age and origin are unknown. 1949 flourished before liberation, and it was often performed in temples and farmers' homes as a sacrificial activity or in memory of the dead. His ancestors taught Taoism, and his grandfather, father and brother were all Taoists. In 22 years (1933), he officially engaged in Taoism.

Daomen's funeral has a fairly complete ceremony, but in folk practice, many folk factors have permeated. The local teachings are handed down from the ancestral Taoism and belong to the Zhang School. They have the heritage of ancient Taoism and the art of ancient preaching. There are ancient paintings, portraits of "three ancient bodhisattvas", ancient robes, Dojo equipment, and ancient Taoist books handed down from family. When doing Dojo, Taoist priests wear various robes, blowing, pulling, beating and singing (chanting: Taoism believes that chanting has great merits, and chanting to the dead can make them get rid of the suffering of the underworld as soon as possible. In the funeral, the classics that are often recited are Du Fu, Jade Emperor Jing, Sanguan Jing and so on. ). The tunes are all passed down from ancient times, the actors sing loudly and brightly, the intonation is all in the local dialect, and there are special Taoist books. To "knot" (as a form of Dojo), the two performed "antithesis" and sang the Changxing local tune clearly and beautifully. In the morning, when the deceased died after 12, the Taoist priest performed "Yi Yi", the movement was slow to fast, and the accompaniment was light to heavy, from scattered to tight, which was very wonderful. "Taking Eight Diagrams" is another form of Dojo. Taoism is flexible, humorous and eloquent. Accompanying instruments in the Dojo include reed flute, flute, Xiao, erhu, Qin Qin, suona, clappers, gongs and drums. , with rich performance content and music.

These practices are mainly for filial piety, but also bring a sense of security to the family and alleviate the psychological shadow caused by the death of loved ones.
