On Lu You's Health Poems
Lu You, a great poet in the Southern Song Dynasty, lived through 85 spring and autumn periods. He was undoubtedly a long-lived old man in the era of "seventy years old", and even today he is a veritable old man. There are many valuable health-preserving poems in his "Jian Nan Poetry Draft". From these works, we can understand the poet's way of keeping in good health, and it is not difficult to understand the reasons for the poet's longevity. Generally speaking, Lu You's health poems include the following aspects:
First, eat well and live a regular life.
Many of Lu You's health poems advocate moderate diet and regular life. Such as the poem "eat porridge":
Everyone in the world is in the third year of high school. I don't know how many years left.
I had to follow the popular method and only give porridge to the gods.
Orderly before the poem: "Zhang Wenqian said that eating porridge can prolong life. Cheating. " Zhang Lei was a poet and writer in the Northern Song Dynasty. From the preface of this poem, we can see that Lu You's Eat Porridge is based on Zhang Lei, a poet in the Northern Song Dynasty. The whole poem affirms that eating porridge is a way of longevity in clear language, which is quite insightful. Modern scientific research shows that rice contains starch, fat, protein and many minerals, and it is rich in nutrition. Just because of the limitation of the times, it is impossible for Lu You to be familiar with these nutritional values of porridge, but his experience that eating porridge can prolong life coincides with scientific truth, which is quite commendable.
In the poem "Leisure" (two poems), Lu You advocated that "drinking is not crazy, and guests are tireless. Reading and entertaining yourself is not omniscient. That is to say, you should drink moderately, live and study moderately, and don't be tired. This longevity experience is also scientific.
Second, cultivate the mind and be cheerful.
Some of Lu You's health poems advocate nourishing the heart, being cheerful and open-minded. Please look at his "introspection" (one of the two songs):
The older you get, the more you know that life is limited. At this time, there is no room for any mistakes.
My body is like a sick crane, and my heart is like abandoning my family.
The high pillow always smells of reed, and the blinds are full of flying flowers.
Wipe your stomach after dinner and bring your own air stove to make tea at night.
The poet who wrote this poem was old, frail and ill, and "stopped for a long time", but at heart he "abandoned his family" like a monk. In the face of illness, he did not feel depressed or dejected, but smiled at the illness and was open-minded: Gao Pillow always heard the voice of "solving the problem" and counted the flying flowers leisurely through the "blinds"; "After a meal", untie your belt and massage your abdomen with your hands; Self-made wind furnace to cook evening tea. From this, people simply can't see that the poet is a "terminally ill" person, but what they see is a self-satisfied poet image. The conclusion of the poet's poem "Keeping Healthy" is: "I enjoy the soup in the humble alley, but I am proud of the public." I wrote that I was eating soup in an obscure alley, but I was happy in my heart and "proud of being public", which also reflected the poet Lu You's outlook on life and unique health.
Third, physical exercise to keep fit.
There are some contents in Lu You's health poems that reflect the importance of labor exercise and physical fitness. Look at two of Xiao Yuan's poems:
