Extended data:
Ningbo is one of the eight major water systems in Zhejiang Province, including Yaojiang River, Fenghua River and Yongjiang River. Yuyao River originates from two lakes in Shangyu District. Fenghua River originates from Bambusa bambusa in Fenghua District. Yuyao River and Fenghua River join the Yongjiang River at the "Three Estuaries" in the urban area, flow to the northeast, and enter the East China Sea via Zhaobaoshan.
As early as more than 7,000 years ago, Ningbo ancestors flourished here and created a splendid Hemudu culture. In the Xia Dynasty, more than 2000 years BC, Ningbo was famous for its Yin Dynasty, and it belonged to Yue State in the Spring and Autumn Period. During the Qin Dynasty, it belonged to three counties in Huiji County: Yin (county governs Baidu Village, Xiwu Street, Fenghua District), Zhi (county governs Tong 'ao Village, Wuxiang Town, Yinzhou District), and (county governs Wangjiaba Village, Cicheng Town, Jiangbei District). It was called Mingzhou in the Tang Dynasty. In the 26th year of Tang Kaiyuan (738), Mingzhou was established, governing four counties: Zhizhi, Cixi, Fenghua and Wengshan. In the first year of Tang Changqing (82 1), the state government moved to Sanjiangkou (now Haishu District) and established Zicheng, which laid the foundation for the development of this city 1000 years.
