How to wash pillows
Like other textiles at home, pillows need to be cleaned occasionally to remove accumulated dust, sweat and grease. Although it seems more convenient to buy new pillows, it is also easy to clean old pillows! If the pillow turns yellow or has not been cleaned for more than six months, you can use one of the following methods to clean it quickly. Knowing that you are resting on fresh cloth will make you sleep more happily!

Clean cotton wool pillows, down pillows and synthetic fiber pillows.

1 Take off the pillowcase. If you put the pillow in the pillowcase, please take it off now. Some pillows have extra zippers. You should also take them out and wash them separately from the pillow body.

Put the pillow in the washing machine. Don't worry, pillows are absolutely safe in the washing machine (even feather pillows). Try to clean the two pillows at least once to balance the washing machine, and the pillows will not roll too much inside.

3 add detergent. Ordinary cleaning, you can add a cup or a spoonful of ordinary detergent. If you want to make the pillow white, in addition to detergent, you can also add the following things: a cup of washing powder for dishwashing, a cup of bleach and half a cup of borax.

4 Start the cleaning procedure. Adjust the setting of the washing machine, wash it with hot water and rinse it twice. Just give it to the washing machine for cleaning!

Put the pillow in the dryer. Put the pillow into the dryer and adjust the settings. If it is a feather pillow, please set the dryer to "natural air". If it is a synthetic fiber pillow, please set the dryer to "low temperature".

6 dry the pillow. Take two tennis balls and put them in clean white socks. Putting socks and pillows into the dryer will loosen the pillows and help shorten the drying time. Then start the dryer!

7 check the pillow. After the dryer completes the drying procedure, take out the pillow and carefully feel and check the humidity. Smell the pillow and check the humidity in the center of the pillow. If the pillow doesn't feel too dry, you can repeat the drying process again and then check it again. If it is dry, then the pillow is clean and ready to use!

Clean memory sponge pillow

1 Take off the pillowcase. If you put the pillow in the pillowcase, please take it off now. Most memory foam pillows have extra zippers. You should also take them out and wash them separately from the pillow body.

2 Pack a bucket of water. For memory cotton pillows made of sensitive materials, the washing procedure of the washing machine is too rough, so pillows made of this material must be washed by hand. Fill a bucket or sink with warm water. You just need enough water to cover the pillow.

3 add detergent. Each pillow needs a tablespoon of laundry detergent in water. Gently stir the water by hand to make it foam and mix thoroughly.

4 clean the pillow. Put the pillow in water and turn it gently to help the detergent penetrate into the pillow. Squeezing the pillow by hand helps to remove dirt, let it pass through the outer layer and make the pillow clean.

5 rinse the pillow. Wash the pillow under running water (fresh water). It is important to wash off as much soap as possible, and check whether the running water still contains soap bubbles. Washing the pillow may take more time than the above cleaning steps.

6 dry the pillow. High temperature will damage memory cotton and make it rupture, so don't put memory cotton pillow in the dryer. Instead, please spread a clean white towel in a dry place and put a pillow on it. Please dry it, if possible.

7 check the pillow. If it contains water for a long time, the memory foam will be particularly damaged because it is made of sponge-like material. Before you bring the pillow back to the bed, make sure that there is no residual moisture in the foam material in the pillow. Otherwise, the pillow will start to mold.

The pillows on the sofa can also be cleaned by cleaning the pillows on the bed. Just make sure to take off the pillowcases (if possible) to protect them.

U pillows should be cleaned two or three times a year to remove accumulated sweat, body fat, dander and dust.

U check the pillow to see if it needs to be completely replaced. Fold the pillow in half. If it keeps its folded shape, it means it is too old and needs to be replaced. If the pillow bounces back to its original shape, it means that it is still intact and only needs cleaning. Pillows are replaced every two years on average.
