? The data of the seventh national census shows that the problem of population aging is increasingly prominent. China's elderly population over 60 years old has reached 260 million, accounting for 18.7% of the total population. As the largest developing country in the world, stepping into an aging society prematurely will inevitably bring a series of major social problems.

For the elderly, how to live a good old age is an unavoidable practical problem. Here I want to talk about my superficial views.

If children should not lose at the starting line, it is a life journey for the elderly. They should not stop at the "end point" of most people's lives (that is, the average life expectancy), but should strive to exceed the average life expectancy and end their own days, that is, improve the quality of life, achieve a long and healthy life, and leave without illness or disaster. To this end, the elderly should know how to keep in good health scientifically and pay attention to adjusting their lifestyles. One of the most important aspects is to change the attitude and pace of life, slow down and live a leisurely and elegant life with free and slow pace.

Why do old people live too slowly?

First, only slow can be good. As the saying goes, "it takes ten years to sharpen a sword" and "slow work produces fine work". Although this is a craft, it is not inappropriate to use it in old age, but suitable. Because, how a person not only lives, but also lives well, especially how the old people live gracefully and smartly, so as to maintain their personal dignity and perfect image, is actually the same as creating an artistic film and television work. It also requires us to have the spirit of artisans, slow work and meticulous work, in order to successfully complete the finishing work of our life work.

Second, only slowly can we be safe. To put it simply, if you want to live well in your old age, you have to live slowly. After all, the aging of the human body and the physiological characteristics of the elderly no longer allow us to do too "out of line" actions, such as some relatively rapid and rapid actions.

? A female doctor in Tik Tok told an example: an old lady died of cardiovascular rupture because she suddenly bent down to get something. Therefore, we old people should try to avoid this dangerous action, and the correct way should be to squat down slowly to pick up things.

? There are too many examples in real life. A seemingly simple move is fatal enough, which shows the importance of slowness to the elderly, at least to reduce risks and protect themselves.

Third, only slow can be elegant. If the elderly want to get people's respect, they don't have to be chic, but they must be elegant, calm, civilized and decent, so they can only be leisurely. If you move too fast, you will lose face and be rude to others.

? Some time ago, there was a video of a Chinese aunt grabbing a buffet. Desperate to rush forward, they kept filling their big plates and bowls with all kinds of food, looking like desperate vagrants and beggars. Their behavior is completely out of line with their status as "ladies" who have no worries about food and clothing, as well as such high-end consumption places and civilized dining forms, not to mention their proper upbringing and temperament.

Fourth, only slow is long. To put it bluntly, longevity means walking slower than others. Long-lived people are slow pedestrians at the end of their lives. They are not in a hurry to go home.

? The storm will never end. In the concept of human language, slow is usually associated with duration, while fast is usually associated with brevity. This is because there is some inevitable connection between the two in reality. More and more scientific research results show that dieting contributes to health and longevity, and eating less can lead to longevity. This undoubtedly shows that we should eat as slowly as possible, that is, we should spend more time digesting the total amount of food in our lives, without restraint, indulging in delicious food for a while and eating too fast and too much for a while, which will damage our health and greatly shorten our life span.

Of course, the slow life of the elderly includes all aspects, from home life, shopping, sports and fitness, traveling abroad, participating in various community activities and so on. Even we elderly people should follow the principle of "rather slow than fast" in our daily sitting and lying. Don't squat and stand up too fast and too hard. Everyone may understand the medical truth, but it is often when you are dizzy that you are really no longer young.

It can be seen that the elderly should enter a state of slow life that adapts to their own bodies as soon as possible.

? So, how can the elderly enter a state of slow life in time?

? First of all, we must recognize the old and serve the old. "The old horse crouches tiger, aiming at a thousand miles; Martyrs are full of courage in their later years. Cao Mengde's heroic poems about volunteers can be said to be a portrayal of the old people's "heart is not old" and have always been affirmed as their positive attitude towards life. Although there is something remarkable about this attitude of rejecting the elderly, it is not only useless but also harmful to ignore and deny the objective fact that the elderly are physically limited as a guide to their lives.

Second, we must retreat quickly. A person has a sense of security, and his career is flourishing in his later years. There are many touching typical cases in the society. For example, an artist, entrepreneur or politician still has a good performance when he is old, and has made achievements enough to set a good example for future generations. However, these outstanding figures with special endowments and in a specific historical environment are not enough to be role models for the general public in their later years. The reason is very simple, that is, no matter how hard we try, we can't reach the height and realm of others.

Ordinary people have the advantage of ordinary people, that is, they can lose themselves in any position at any time. Instead, it is "dead butcher, don't eat pigs with pigs." As an ordinary old man, he retired and returned to his family, planting flowers and raising birds, entertaining his grandchildren, playing Tai Chi, practicing calligraphy, singing, dancing, going out for an outing, or engaging in healthy activities with like-minded friends that he has been longing for but has no time to take care of.

Third, we should do whatever we want. Life tells us that we are by no means omnipotent God, but we can certainly do something, especially in our later years. After retirement, you can go to the university for the aged to continue charging, but not for the promotion of professional titles and salary increase, just to make up for the lost opportunities for further study in your early years; You can also go to the ancient temples in the deep mountains to listen to the scriptures, listen to the dharma and meditate, not to die in bliss in the future, but to bathe in nectar and purify your soul.

Besides, you can even wander aimlessly. When you are tired, you can hide in the study and read an easy-to-read book while drinking tea. Or sit under a leafy tree at the foot of the mountain, listen to the chirping of birds, look at the blue sky and white clouds, stay for a while, close your eyes and take a nap ...

In short, let go of your body and mind, let yourself go, be close to nature, be carefree, deeply appreciate the quietness of the years, and enjoy the happiness of life slowly!

? How can we live a slow life in old age?

? First, keep it simple. The best-selling book "Breaking Up" advocates people to live a minimalist life. We old people don't have to catch up with this fashion and go high-end. We want to live a simple life, but we don't deliberately pursue anything.

To live a simple life, eat less, wear comfortable clothes, be clean and tidy, sit down and lie down slowly, tolerate others, those who don't care, don't argue with others for a while, try to avoid haggling over every ounce, fight for one point, and tolerate others' extreme mentality.

If life is simple, you won't be tired of running around because of many chores, and you will have more leisure and freedom.

Second, stupid. This is what the ancients meant by "it is rare to be confused", which means not to be too smart, and sometimes it is better to be confused. To put it bluntly, you should learn to play dumb, even though you know that you will suffer some losses sometimes. Because in the wisdom of the ancients, eating a little loss often takes a big advantage. If you are bullied by the wicked, tolerance is the wisest choice. Otherwise, if you choose to fight the wicked, you will be hospitalized if you lose, or you will be imprisoned if you win. Compared with tolerance, it may not be any good.

The wisdom of the ancients is actually false and confused, but it is really smart.

Confusion and stupidity can simplify many complicated interpersonal relationships. For example, a friendship between gentlemen is as light as water, and it is difficult to have conflicts of interest without conflicts of interest. Friendship may not be sublimated and promoted, but at least it will not deteriorate or even break up.

Light communication, getting closer, getting to know each other better and deepening friendship will make us become bosom friends or like-minded friends, and the future life will not be a lonely journey. Because some people have fun with us and some people comfort us to relieve our depression, our hearts will become more and more rich and full of sunshine under the nourishment of friendship.

One or two confidants, three or five relatives and friends, or a cup of tea, chatting, or a pot of old wine, drinking and laughing. ...

? Third, be diligent. The slow life of the elderly is not the life of the lazy. Without diligence as the premise, life is hard to slow down anyway, which embodies the dialectical outlook on life.

Diligence seems to contradict the slow life we advocate, but it is not. Because slow life means that the elderly live in an orderly, step-by-step and leisurely way, which inevitably requires us elderly people to be diligent in everything, make plans early, plan ahead, and make full preparations so as not to be in a hurry and lose ground. This is especially important for forgetful old people.

Diligence also requires the elderly to do what they can and not pretend to be others, so that they can take care of themselves when they are old. Many old people in rural areas have been taking care of themselves before their death, benefiting from years of hard work and quick hands and feet, instead of being pampered and bedridden for a long time like the old people in the city, dragging down relatives and friends and being rejected!

Diligence undoubtedly includes taking good care of your wife. This is to make yourself a little busy, a little tired, and let your other half relax and be happy. After all, the most romantic thing in the world is to grow old with you!
