According to legend, 1400 years ago, people on both sides of Nanchuan River heard that people had been harmed by mandrills, and even Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong, was disturbed, so he sent a letter to seek medical treatment all over the country. Li Yi, who was born in Dayao, Nanxiang, Liuyang, Hunan, painstakingly developed firecrackers, which were not only used to ward off evil spirits, but also to drive away the evil spirits of Taizong. Li Yi was named "the ancestor of firecrackers" by Emperor Taizong because of his meritorious service in rescuing the driver.
