Chashan Town is located in the north-central part of Dongguan, beside the remaining tributary of Dongjiang River, with 23 4' north latitude and113 5' east longitude. Shipai and hengli town are in the east, Liaobu and Dongkeng towns in the south, Dongcheng Street in the west and Shilong Town and Shijie Town across the Dongjiang River in the north. The town covers an area of 56.6 square kilometers.

Deep humanistic background

During the Southern and Northern Dynasties in Liang Wudi (502-549), monks built Yanta Temple in Tieluling, where they planted tea along the mountain, hence the name Chashan. Outstanding figures such as anti-Yuan hero, philosopher and governor Xie of Guangdong and Guangxi emerged in Chashan.
