2. Massage method
1. Apply force to the skin with fingers, palms, elbows or other parts of limbs.
2. From light to heavy, gradually press the massage parts or acupoints hard, stop for a minute, and then slowly relax from heavy to light.
3. Finger pressing and palm pressing are the two most commonly used pressing methods. Thumb or forefinger, middle finger and ring finger exert force to press a point or acupoint on the body surface, which is called shiatsu. Pressing a part of the body surface with one or two palms, or overlapping the roots of palms or two palms, is called palm pressure.
