As soon as winter arrives, winter products such as mattresses begin to sell well. Some merchants sell expensive healthy mattresses under the banner of "high technology", claiming that they are designed and manufactured according to ergonomic principles. What's more, they claim that their mattresses "can cure all diseases".
Anyone who knows a little about it knows that it is a scam, but these "high-tech terms" such as "ergonomic principles", "magnetic therapy, drug therapy and aromatic qigong" are really confusing. Is there a bed or mattress that can make it easy for us to get therapeutic effects during sleep?
Health care products or bedding?
If drugs are added to the mattress, direct contact with the human body will basically have no effect, because in medicine, direct contact with drugs on the skin generally treats local diseases by smearing or smearing, and it seems unnecessary to put drugs on such a large mattress.
Aromatherapy, Qigong therapy and magnetic therapy, which don't need direct contact, are actually similar to some popular folk methods, such as black tea fungus, chicken blood therapy and knife cutting, and just like black tea fungus, chicken blood therapy and knife cutting, there is not enough evidence to prove their effectiveness.
The curative effect of a therapy cannot be explained by a single case, but it is necessary to exclude the influence of various mixed factors (most commonly psychological factors) through scientific research and prove the causal relationship between therapy and treatment results. At present, there is no formal research on these therapies, but in general, there are not many high-quality studies. Even in the more reliable research, the curative effect of these therapies is just like Duan Yu's six-pulse Excalibur in Dragon Eight Branches.
Those products that claim to play a "therapeutic" role through aromatherapy, qigong therapy, magnetic therapy, etc. are usually sold as health care products, so that it is not necessary to complete strict clinical trials to prove its efficacy, and of course, it is theoretically impossible to publicize its efficacy in the sales process. Unfortunately, there are almost no health care products in China that do not publicize their efficacy.
If these mattresses with such magical functions really have definite curative effects, why don't manufacturers clearly regard their products as medicines or medical devices and accept the supervision and evaluation of doctors and patients in an upright manner?
To take a step back, we assume that these treatments are effective for some diseases, so there is still a problem, that is, different people have different physical conditions, how can a product be suitable for everyone? The advertisement of "not treating the sick" is irresponsible in itself.
Treat heart disease or physical disease?
If you consult a doctor as a patient, maybe the doctor will put forward some requirements about mattresses for patients with certain diseases. For example, for patients with disc herniation, doctors will ask them to sleep on a hard mattress to reduce the pressure on the disc to continue to protrude backward (even some orthopedic surgeons think it is unnecessary to sleep on a hard bed, as long as it is not a collapsed mattress).
For example, for patients who stay in bed for a long time due to coma, paralysis and other reasons, the air cushion bed can reduce the pressure and prevent bedsores. These two examples are the simple mechanical action of bed or mattress to treat or prevent diseases, and they only play an auxiliary role in the whole treatment process of diseases.
In fact, if you are really sick, don't expect a bed or mattress to prevent and treat the disease. Although the current material science can achieve the purpose of ergonomics on a mattress, these beds or mattresses are often some ordinary goods, which can be bought in ordinary stores, and the price is no different from that of ordinary beds or mattresses. If you want to prevent diseases, a good environment, quitting smoking and drinking, cheerful mood, comprehensive and balanced nutrition, proper exercise and regular work and rest habits are much more important than those expensive mattresses that claim to have magical effects.
In fact, the real ergonomic mattress has strict requirements in terms of load-bearing, softness and hardness, and must be designed and manufactured according to each person's physique, age and other specific conditions, but its related manufacturing costs and prices will greatly exceed the affordability of ordinary consumers. According to media reports, at present, most of the "ergonomic mattresses" on the market are produced by manufacturers according to unified product quality standards, and they do not have the function of treating diseases.
Of course, some people will still say that they have used functional mattresses, which really feels very effective. That's because this influence is often reflected in some mental diseases or patients' subjective feelings. To put it in an old saying, it is often "believing is spiritual, but not believing is ineffective". Therefore, if someone really believes in the efficacy of these so-called functional mattresses, it may really promote his health, of course, only within the limits of psychological factors: for example, if a patient feels that his illness is "promising" after buying a "magic" mattress, there may be psychological hints that his symptoms of lumbar disc herniation may be improved for a while, but the severity of disc herniation will not be alleviated.
Most people should not want to spend thousands of dollars on a placebo that only works psychologically. Speaking of money, some people may say that some mattresses add precious jade, which is expensive in itself; If so, then this is the ornamental value or preservation function of these jade articles, which has nothing to do with health.
