Growth law and management of pepper in germination period
After sowing, we all have to go through the process of germination, so what is germination?
Germination period refers to the time required for seeds to germinate and two cotyledons to spread out after sowing. It takes 5-8 days after accelerated germination and sowing, and the first true leaf appears about 15 days after unearthed.
It should be noted that different pepper varieties have different germination conditions, but generally speaking, the suitable temperature for germination is 25-30 degrees Celsius. Environmental temperature management should be strengthened during germination, and the temperature should not be too high or too low. Excessive temperature will lead to poor germination or even no germination. If the temperature is as low as 15℃, it will grow slowly during germination.
Seedling temperature management
Temperature control during seedling growth period is particularly important. The daytime temperature is about 25-30 degrees Celsius, and the nighttime temperature is 15- 18 degrees Celsius. If the temperature exceeds this temperature, the seedlings will grow wildly; if it is lower than this temperature, the seedlings will grow slowly and prolong the whole growth period.
It should be noted that the seedling stage can be divided into two stages according to the different nutritional stages. The first stage: from the first true leaf to 3-4 true leaves, it belongs to the basic vegetative growth stage. The growth of roots and stems and leaves in one stage is the main part, which also lays the foundation for the next stage. The second stage: from the third and fourth true leaves, flower bud differentiation begins until flowering, when vegetative growth and reproductive growth are synchronized. This stage takes about a month, mainly based on the differentiation and development of roots, leaves and flower buds.
Growth law and management of pepper at initial flowering stage
Temperature management in early flowering period: The temperature of pepper in the early flowering period is required to be 25-28 degrees Celsius during the day and 15-20 degrees Celsius at night.
It should be noted that during this period, the temperature should not exceed 35 degrees Celsius. If it exceeds 35 degrees Celsius, it will lead to the failure of effective fruit setting in the early flowering period of pepper, which will directly affect the late yield of pepper. If the temperature is lower than 10℃, it will lead to ineffective flowering of pepper at the initial flowering stage and also affect the fruit setting rate of pepper. If the fruit has been set, it will be difficult to grow up, and even deformed fruit will appear. Therefore, we should strengthen the daily temperature management at the initial flowering stage of pepper to improve the fruit setting rate, commodity rate and yield of pepper in fruit period.
Temperature management in pepper fruit period
The required temperature of pepper in fruit stage is 26-27℃ during the day and 16-20℃ at night, and the temperature difference between day and night is preferably 6- 10℃.
Remember: the temperature should not be too high or too low during this period. If it exceeds 35 degrees Celsius, it will affect the crazy growth of seedlings and lead to the phenomenon that pepper does not bear fruit in fruit period. If the temperature is below zero, it will lead to freezing injury and affect the commodity and yield of pepper fruit. Therefore, it is particularly important to strengthen the daily temperature control during the pepper fruit period.
