Dong Zhongshu studied hard since childhood. It is said that there is a garden in his backyard. In order to study hard, he has not been to the garden for three years. In the period of Emperor Jing of Han Dynasty, he became a doctor in the imperial court, responsible for explaining Confucian classics. Because of his profound knowledge and popular explanation, he was appreciated by officials and nobles. After Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty acceded to the throne, he heard about Dong Zhongshu's fame and called him in to ask him face to face. Dong Zhongshu responded appropriately and shared his research results with Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty. In this way, Dong Zhongshu became a "red man" under Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty.
Next, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty ordered the world to "oust hundreds of schools and respect Confucianism alone". Since then, Confucianism has become a good strategy for the feudal dynasty to govern the country. When people thought that Dong Zhongshu was going to "soar into the sky" and made a blockbuster in the officialdom, he went to prison and became a prisoner.
