How long is the growth cycle of sugar beet?
Under suitable climatic conditions, the growth cycle of sugar beet is 8- 10 weeks, that is, 80-90 days, including four stages: seedling stage, leaf rapid growth stage, root sugar growth stage and sugar accumulation stage. Beet can be cultivated in both spring and autumn. Mature fleshy roots are oblong or oblate, and oblate roots have the best quality.

Sugarbeet growth cycle management

Water and fertilizer management: sugar beet has a long growth cycle, a large amount of growth and a lot of fertilizer. It should be managed according to the soil, climate and water and fertilizer requirements of sugar beet in different periods. Sugarbeet topdressing must be based on appropriate amount of phosphorus, potassium and nitrogen fertilizer.

Field management: it is forbidden to loosen the soil and green leaves during the growth of sugar beet, and the weeds in the field are still not scattered.

Pest control: irrigate in autumn and winter, sow in time, remove weeds, irrigate and shovel, dig ditches to prevent insects, capture artificially, and select disease-resistant varieties for diseases.

Temperature management: Beet is a relatively cold-tolerant crop. The optimum temperature for beet seed germination is 25℃, the lowest is 4 ~ 5℃, and the highest is 28 ~ 30℃. The lower the temperature, the longer the germination time, and the higher the temperature, the shorter the germination time. The emergence time has a great influence on the future growth of sugar beet.

Sugarbeet scientific planting

Land selection and soil preparation: You should choose a plot with fertile soil, relatively flat terrain and good drainage, preferably a plot where beets have not been planted for more than four years.

Sow in time: sow early according to local climate conditions. Early sowing can not only prolong the growth period and increase the yield, but also improve the resistance of strong seedlings to pests and diseases and cultivate their resistance to natural disasters such as wind and freezing.

Reasonable close planting: Reasonable close planting can improve the utilization rate of soil nutrients and fertilizers, reduce water evaporation, make full use of sunlight and increase yield.
