According to legend, when Emperor Taizong was in power, Sun Simiao, the king of medicine, made a special trip to Emei Mountain to ask for tea and medicine. The tea monk of Heishui Temple in Emei Mountain presented the top grade "Emei Snow Bud" to Emperor Taizong. Since then, "Emei Snow Bud" has been broadcast in Chang 'an and listed as one of the top ten famous teas in China.
According to the tea history of Mount Emei, whenever spring tea is picked in March of the lunar calendar, tea monks in major temples in Mount Emei get busy and start an annual tea tasting activity. The tea monk stepped on the residual snow in the tea garden and picked new tea. There is a poem describing monks and nuns picking tea, which is also called the Buddhist "tea picking tune": "Jade hands are slender, Zen mind is pure, pious chanting, and picking tea for Buddha before." According to the convention and regulations, temples with royal tea gardens, such as Heishui Temple and Wannian Temple, should seal the first-class "Emei Xueya" spring tea with unique wax, and under the supervision of eunuchs and local officials who specialize in tea in the imperial court, hold a ceremony of offering Buddha tea to the newly baked "Emei Xueya" tribute tea, praying for the Buddha to send happiness and enrich the people; Pray for good weather, peace and prosperity. At the peak, hundreds of monks and thousands of pilgrims gathered together, and the Buddha's flag was elegant, chanting and drinking soup, echoing the valley. The scene is spectacular. On the day when celebrities taste spring tea, Emei Mountain, the hometown of Melissa Zhou, Emei, which is a rare green tea, will hold the annual tea culture activity of "Taste Emei Melissa Zhou and Worship Pu Xian Ten Places". The biggest gain is to find out the formula of health tea that has been circulated by Buddhists in the mountains for more than 3 thousand years. This is "three teas, one Buddhist in Emei Mountain". Emei Mountain is the birthplace of wild ancient tea in the world. Tea production has a history of more than 3000 years. In the Tang Dynasty, Emei Xueya tea, which originated from Taoism and Buddhism, has been listed as tribute tea and has become one of the top ten famous teas in China. Planting tea, making tea and drinking tea have all become the "agricultural Zen" activities of many temples in the mountains and have been included in the curriculum.
The origin of three Buddhist teas in Emei Mountain can be traced back to the Xiaoyan period in Liang Wudi during the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties from 502 to 547 AD, which was founded by monk Zhang Bao. In 5 18, Zhang Bao, a monk from China and India, came to China. He once became the first peak in Zhang Bao after Hongchunping in Emei Mountain, where he drank tea at Youxi Mountain three times a day. The monk is different from the woodcutter. Zhang Bao said, "This is the way to live a long life." According to historical records, Zhang Bao died in the second year of Tang Xianqing at the age of 130.
Therefore, after hundreds of years of tea drinking practice, Buddhists in Emei Mountain set "Yin Mao, noon and Xuhai" as the best time to drink tea for health every day.
First tea: tea in the morning. That is, "take it before the ceremony" at noon. Monks explain it this way: food is the most important thing for the people, and grains are eaten several times a day. Dirty things are hidden in the stomach, turbid gas swims in the heart, and various poisons are immersed in the meridians. In addition, the human body is turbid overnight, and the Emei snow buds in the forest can solve all kinds of poisons. Therefore, before "going to the toilet" or "going to the toilet" every morning, making tea with boiling water and drinking 3 cups of tea can achieve the health care effect of turning turbid water into clear water, expelling toxins and caring skin.
The second tea: "No tea at noon". "Noon" means every morning between 1 1 and noon 1. That is, drinking two cups of green tea immediately after an empty stomach (lunch) can have the effect of "strengthening teeth" and preventing all diseases. Modern science has proved clinically that green tea has anti-inflammatory and bactericidal effects. After eating, bacteria and viruses in food left in the mouth and teeth can multiply rapidly within half a minute. At this time, drinking two cups of green tea immediately can achieve the effect of anti-inflammatory and sterilization.
Three teas: The time is set in "Xu Hai". That is, from 9: 00 to 1 1 before going to bed every night. These three kinds of tea are used for "washing" and need not be taken orally. That is to say, washing your face with green tea, especially your eyes, can play a role in detoxification and beauty. The washing time is a quarter of an hour.
The Buddhist three teas in Emei Mountain are very particular about the use of water and tea. The brewed water is taken from the sweet springs in the mountains, and the ecological tea in the forest is taken from Chaze. The two complement each other and have excellent quality. Why not stay healthy?
