The elevation of Jiuhuangshan Mountain is 620 meters at the foot of the mountain and 2840 meters at the top. The slope of the peak is between 18 and 25, and the maximum slope is over 80. Guixi River Canyon, the valley where Pingtong River passes, constitutes the main topographic space in this area. The terrain is changeable, the west side of the valley is a multi-level slope, and the east side is a steep cliff with hard walls. The karst landform features are very typical.

Jiuhuangshan Scenic Area belongs to subtropical humid monsoon climate zone, with obvious three-dimensional climate, warm in winter and cool in summer, warm and humid, abundant rainfall and distinct four seasons. Annual average temperature 14.7℃ to 15.8℃, January temperature 3.8℃ to 5.0℃, July temperature 23.2℃ to 24.8℃, relative humidity 75 to 80, annual sunshine 1050 hours and annual precipitation 950 to/kloc-0.
