Linxian County, located in the middle reaches of the Yellow River on the west side of Luliang Mountain in Shanxi Loess Plateau, belongs to Lvliang City, Shanxi Province. Shandong, Lvliang is connected with Fangshan, facing Jiaxian and wubu county across the Yellow River in the west, bordering Xingxian in the north and Lishi and Liulin in the south. The county covers an area of 2,979 square kilometers and has a total population of 650,000. It governs 23 townships and is the most populous county in Luliang area.
