Upp was born in Guangling County (now Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province). Font size and date of birth and death are unknown. Upp studied medicine with Hua Tuo and saved many lives. He is good at wuqinxi, and it is said that he still has ears and eyes in his nineties. Materia Medica was written by Shennong, Huangdi, Qi Bo, Lei Gong, Hua Tuo and disciple Li. It is very detailed and has been lost today.
Fan A (164-272) is from Pengcheng. Famous doctor. Hua Tuo, a senior disciple, is good at acupuncture and health preservation, and is over 100 years old. Fan A studied medicine with Hua Tuo, was good at acupuncture and was brave in exploration. It is said that Fan A used the "paint paste powder" pharmaceutical technology taught by Hua Tuo to take medicine, and lived to 100 years old.

The six volumes of Materia Medica, also known as Wu Materia Medica, are one of the annotations of Shennong Materia Medica Classic.
