More than 2,500 years ago, in the northwest of ancient India, at the foot of the Himalayas, there was a kingdom called Kapilovi (now Nepal). There are dense forests on the mountains, rice in the plains and grassland suitable for animal husbandry. This is a beautiful and rich place.
The king's surname is Gautama, and his name is Tu Tu Tona. This name means pure rice, so it is called king suddhodana and belongs to the Sakyamuni family. The queen's name is Moya Moya, the eldest daughter of King Shanjue, who is near Tianarm City.
Sudoku King and Queen Moya have a good relationship, but they have been married for many years and have no children. King suddhodana was very upset because he had no heir to the throne. It was not until Sudoku King was 50 years old that Queen Maya became pregnant for the first time at the age of 45.
According to Buddhist legend, the Mayan queen was pregnant because she dreamed that a six-toothed white elephant flew out in her sleep and entered the queen's stomach from her right rib. Since she became pregnant, the queen has been in a happy mood, without worries or worries. Since then, she has never lost her anger, cut off greed and hypocrisy, and just likes to walk by the quiet Woods and streams every day. According to the custom of India at that time, the wife went back to her mother's house to give birth to a child, and the husband could not follow. In the picture, there is only Queen Moya sitting in a sedan chair, but there is no king suddhodana.
According to the custom of ancient India at that time, a woman had to go back to her mother's house when she gave birth to her first child. King suddhodana reserved a sedan chair carried by two elephants for Queen Maya after her pregnancy expired, and sent many ladies-in-waiting and courtiers to escort Queen Maya back to her family's Tianbeicheng. In the picture, the little prince is held by the legendary king, behind whom are Brahma gods. It means that God gave Sakyamuni to the world. Standing by the branch is Queen Maya. Buddhist scriptures say that the prince was born from the right rib of the Mayan queen. The white elephant in the Maya queen's night dream also entered the body from the right rib and became pregnant.
On her way back to her mother's home, Tiam City, the Maya Queen passed the Lumbini Garden at the junction of Kapilowei City and Tiam City. Tired from the journey, she got off the sedan chair and went to rest in the garden. When Queen Maya walked to a lush and carefree tree and reached out to touch the branches, she was shocked and gave birth to a prince under the tree.
The prince was born in 565 BC, on the eighth day of the fourth lunar month. Buddhism designated this day as "Buddha's Birthday Festival", also known as "Buddha Bath Festival". On the left, kneeling beside the prince, King Su Fan (green) rushed to Lumbini Garden after hearing the news of the prince's birth. Kneeling on one leg beside King Su Fan is the eldest brother of King Su Fan (in red). He stands behind King Su Fan and raises his hand to cheer his second brother, King Manna. In the middle of the picture stands the Maya Queen, and in the air on both sides are Brahma gods who bless the prince.
Buddhist scriptures say: When the prince was born, Yue Xian was singing in the sky, flowers and rain were colorful, and the gods were guarding him. At that time, the universe was bright and everything was thriving. Two silver chains of clear water fell from the sky, one warm and the other cool, bathing the prince (this is also the allusion of Buddhism as a bathing Buddha festival). When the prince is born, he can take seven steps by himself. Every step the prince takes, a lotus flower will appear at his feet. The prince pointed to the sky with his right hand and the ground with his left hand, and announced loudly: "Only the sky and the world."
Buddhists just want to bathe the prince with pure water and fragrant soup in the Hall of the Great Hero when they hold a "bathing ceremony" on the Buddha's birthday. The prince is a boy several inches tall, with his right hand pointing to the sky and his left hand pointing to the ground. The prince worshipped by Buddhists in China in the Han Dynasty is just like the left hand pointing to the sky and the right hand pointing to the ground. This is because in ancient China, leftism was advocated and respected. In fact, this is not in line with the Buddhist scriptures.
According to Buddhist scriptures, after the Maya queen gave birth to the prince, auspicious things kept happening all over the country. The turbid river has become clear, the grain is abundant, the flowers and trees are lush, and people have become harmonious. The child was born on the same day as the prince, and both mother and son are healthy. The cattle and horses produced are also very strong, and there is not even a mottled mane.
King suddhodana was very happy to hear that Queen Moya had given birth to a prince in Lumbini Garden. He immediately led many ladies-in-waiting, chariots and horses, and special big sedan chairs to Lumbini Garden to take the queen and the prince back to the palace.
On the fifth day after the prince was born, Sudoku invited many prestigious scholars from all over the country to name the prince. After several discussions, everyone agreed that the prince should be named Siddhartha Gautama. Siddhartha means "good luck" and "success".
Queen Maya died of illness seven days after giving birth to Prince Siddhartha of Gautama. When he was a child, Prince Siddhartha was raised by his aunt Princess Mahabogobody. After the death of her sister, Queen Maya, Princess Bogboti married King Sudoku. Princess Borg Bertie looks dignified and beautiful, and her personality is gentle and quiet. She took good care of Siddhartha's little nephew and loved him very much.
Buddhist scripture says: Shortly after Prince Siddhartha was born, a very famous prophet, a fairy called Asita, came to the palace and occupied the position of the prince. When Asita saw the prince, he was very surprised at first, and then he shed tears sadly. King suddhodana asked him why he was happy and sad. Asita fairy replied: The prince's appearance is so good that there is no second person in the world! If he succeeds to the throne in the future, he must be a "wheel king" (ancient India said that he has prestige to unify the four countries), so I am James Wang. But according to my observation, the prince is bound to become a monk and learn Taoism, and he can achieve the highest achievement, become the supreme mentor of the unity of heaven and man, and save the world from suffering. Unfortunately, I am too old to hear the prince's teachings and feel sorry for myself.
King suddhodana was happy and worried when he heard the fairy's words. Of course, he wants his son to be the wheel king who unifies the world. After that, the king tried every means to prevent the prince from becoming a monk.
Prince Siddhartha used to meditate when he was a child. After seeing many phenomena in the world, it is easy for him to feel and ponder. In the traditional "Wang Geng Festival", the king personally cultivates the land. Sudoku King leads Prince Siddhartha to the venue. The prince saw the farmers in the field with bare backs and naked bodies, working hard in the hot sun. Cattle plowed were whipped by ropes, worms and earthworms dug out by plowshares were pecked by birds, and birds were swallowed by snakes and eagles. Struggle for existence's scene, the law of the jungle, made the prince feel very painful. He was not interested in playing, so he went to sit and meditate under a Yanfu tree.
Buddhist scriptures say: Prince Siddhartha sits under a tree and meditates, sometimes he can naturally grow longer. The sudden arrival of King Rice and the Prince's Princess menstruation Bogberti were so surprised that they could not help but pay homage to the Prince.
Prince Siddhartha of Gautama looks more and more magical. He is very clever. His father, Sudoku, has great expectations for him, hoping that he can make great achievements and become a wheel king after he inherits the throne. From the age of seven, the prince began to learn all the knowledge and skills that the royal family should have at that time. By the time 12 years old, the prince had mastered the highest academic in India at that time, namely, Wuming and Sida. The five senses are: ① narrative literature. (2) process. ③ The drug prescription is clear. (4) Ethical reasons. ⑤ Understanding of religion. The four Vedas are: ① Rigveda, the method of health preservation. (2) Sacrificial information in Momma and Veda. (3) Night Jovida in the study of the art of war. ④ Arjuna Veda is a document. The four Vedas were the classics of Brahmanism at that time, which were considered supreme and must be read by nobles.
Prince Siddhartha also learned martial arts from warriors and became an expert in horseback riding, archery and fencing.
King suddhodana held a martial arts competition, and all the princes of Sakyamuni tribe took part in the competition. Prince Siddhartha performed well in riding and shooting, won the championship and was admired by thousands of people.
King suddhodana found that his son was too concerned about human sufferings and was afraid that the prince would become a monk, so he built three luxurious palaces for him, which were cold-proof in winter and summer and moisture-proof in rainy season (called three temples), and selected hundreds of beautiful girls to sing and dance for the prince at any time. When Prince Siddhartha 16 years old, he married his cousin Princess yaodharā as his concubine. Trying to bind the prince from the enjoyment of life, let him indulge his lust and indulge in entertainment. But all this failed to arouse the interest of Prince Siddhartha, but made him feel too noisy, annoying and boring. It also caused him to ponder: "There are countless pains and troubles in the world that have not been solved. Can you get rid of the pursuit of pleasure? " Life is short, how long can you enjoy it? "Therefore, Prince Siddhartha often avoids singing and dancing loudly, and goes to the quiet Woods and the river for a walk and thinking alone.
All fathers in the world, whether kings or ordinary people, are afraid that their sons will have fun and indulge their lust. However, Sudoku King was afraid that the prince would be quiet and had the idea of becoming a monk. Therefore, in addition to building a luxurious palace for the prince and marrying a beautiful wife for the prince, he is always concerned about the prince's emotional changes. When he sees the prince quiet and unhappy, he must try to cheer him up. King suddhodana found that the prince was clamoring for singing and dancing in the palace, so he asked the prince to play in a carriage and told the driver that he must take the prince to a place with happy people and beautiful scenery. However, Prince Siddhartha likes a quiet environment. He asked the driver Cheney to take him out of town.
Prince Siddhartha went out of town in a carriage. As soon as he arrived at the east gate of Beijing, he saw an old man with white hair and beard, hunched over his back, trudging and groaning. Siddhartha saw this scene and thought: aging is an unavoidable fate for everyone! People are loved by their parents when they are young, handsome when they are young and full of energy when they are in their prime, but in their later years, people will live in a lot of pain.
Siddhartha saw that the old man was very sad, so he called the car to hide, turned the carriage around and headed for the south gate of Beijing. Just arrived at the south gate, and saw a scarred, bleeding patient. The patient groaned in pain as he walked. Prince Siddhartha believes that illness is inevitable for everyone. It's hard to imagine how many diseases and pains people have to bear in their lives!
Then, Prince Siddhartha turned around and came to the west gate of Beijing. He saw two people carrying a dead man, and his accompanying relatives were crying sadly. Prince Siddhartha sighed and said to himself, Death is terrible, and everyone is bound to die. How unbearable the fear that death brings to everyone! His death brought infinite sorrow to many relatives and friends. These pains are endless and no one can get rid of them. How depressing and annoying this is! He immediately left the west gate again.
Finally, Prince Siddhartha drove to the north gate of Beijing and saw a monk coming across the street (India called him a "shaman" at that time). Shaman wears a yellow cassock, bares his right shoulder, holds a stick in one hand and a bowl in the other, and has a serious and serene attitude. Prince Siddhartha thought: This monk will certainly not have as much pain and trouble as a layman.
Yaodharā, the beautiful princess of Prince Siddhartha, gave birth to a son. King Su Fan was very happy and ordered a national celebration. But Prince Siddhartha has a heavy heart. He named his son Luo Houluo. This name means "blocking obstacles", which is a hidden obstacle. At this time, Prince Siddhartha already had the idea of becoming a monk, and he was afraid that having a son would increase his nostalgia for his family. The meaning of the name "Luo Houluo" is also interpreted as "circle", which means that having a son is bound, just like being trapped in a circle.
Finally, one day when Prince Siddhartha was 29 (or 19), he solemnly begged his father, King Fan Jingguo, to allow him to become a monk. King suddhodana heard that his son was going to become a monk, which was like a bolt from the blue. He tearfully asked Siddhartha to give up the idea of becoming a monk in order to inherit the throne in the future. Siddhartha told his father that he would not become a monk if his four demands were met. First, there is no aging phenomenon, second, there is no pain of disease, third, there is no fear of death, and fourth, everything is indestructible.
King suddhodana saw that his son was determined to become a monk and was unable to convince him, so he had to send more people to look after Prince Siddhartha and not let him leave the palace.
King suddhodana ordered the ladies-in-waiting to stay with the prince at all times, playing beautiful music and dancing beautifully, trying their best to please him. One night in the middle of the night, Prince Siddhartha woke up and saw the ladies-in-waiting who were singing and dancing all day sleeping around. Everyone was disheveled and bare-chested. Some are talking in their sleep, drooling, some are snoring, and their posture is ugly. Usually, their enchanting appearance is gone. The prince couldn't help but be surprised and sighed: Many things in this world are fake! I want to get rid of all this and I can't hesitate any longer. The prince's mood is like a raging fire in the whole palace now. He must go out at once.
At midnight on the eighth day of February (China lunar calendar), Prince Siddhartha got up and went to the bedroom of his wife and children first. He stared at the sleeping Princess Aodeha ā and his son Luo Houluo, silently said goodbye to them, resolutely turned around and left the luxurious palace built by his father.
Prince Siddhartha came to the stable again, woke up the groom's car and told him to bring out a white horse named Guidou and saddle it. The prince got on the horse and accompanied the car. When all the people in the palace fell asleep, Wang Ziteng jumped out of the north gate of the capital and galloped away to the mountain in the white moonlight.
At dawn, Prince Siddhartha arrived in the forest of Rama village on the Abu Mi River hundreds of miles away from the capital. He drew his sword and cut off his hair, disguised himself as a monk, and then ordered his car to hide in the palace to tell his father that Sudoku had become a monk.
Prince Siddhartha resolutely gave up the throne and became a monk. The reasons are social influence and his personal understanding. Prince Siddhartha lived in the era of struggle and annexation among ancient Indian countries, and the class and ethnic contradictions were very sharp. Sakyamuni, to which he belongs, is a relatively weak nation, threatened by the forces of neighboring countries, and sometimes in danger of extinction. Therefore, it is believed that everything and ideas in the world change in life and death. Without eternal happiness, all kinds of pains are endless. In addition, he witnessed the scenes of old age, illness and death that followed after birth, and thought that he could not get rid of the same fate, which led to the troubles that life could not get rid of. In order to get spiritual liberation, he finally became a monk.
