Tongrentang began in 1669 (the eighth year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty), and its founder was brilliant.
Le Xianyang, whose ancestral home is in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, regards practicing medicine and selling medicine as the highest pursuit of preserving health and serving the society. He said: "medicine is the most important thing for those who can keep healthy and save the world." Le Xianyang founded Tong Ren Tang Pharmacy in the eighth year of Qing Emperor Kangxi (1669).
Tongrentang began to offer imperial medicine from 1723, and went through eight emperors 188. In the course of more than 300 years' wind and rain, Tongrentang people in all previous dynasties have always adhered to the old adage that "although the processing is complicated, they will not dare to save labor, and although the taste is expensive, they will not dare to reduce materials", and have established the self-discipline consciousness of "no one knows everything", which has created the rigorous spirit of being meticulous and improving in the pharmaceutical process.
