Hunan Biomechanical Vocational and Technical College was formed by the merger of Changsha Agricultural School and Hunan Electromechanical Engineering School on May 28th, 20001year. Formerly known as Hunan Biomechanical Engineering Vocational and Technical College, it was renamed on February 22, 2003. Hunan Electromechanical Engineering School, formerly known as Hunan Agricultural Mechanization School (Hunan Agricultural Machinery School), was founded in 1958. Changsha Agricultural School, formerly known as Reading School, was founded in 1903.

Hunan Biomechanics Vocational and Technical College is located in Furong District, the eastern suburb of Changsha City, Hunan Province. It has two campuses, namely, the south campus is located in East Lake and the north campus is located in Ma Po Ridge.
