Old streets and alleys are a magical place.

Located in downtown area, it has a unique personality.

Sometimes the market is noisy,

Sometimes quiet, sometimes deep.

Walking into the old street from downtown,

Is to travel through the past.

Li Chunliang Mountains.

Li Chunliang covers an area of 1.38 square kilometers and consists of five ancient streets: Tangzi Lane, Suomian Lane, Xinei Street, Li Chunliang, Youfang Lane and Gu Xiang. There are 27 outstanding representative buildings in People's Republic of China (PRC), most of which are Huizhou-style buildings, mainly with two black painted doors, and facing the patio, there are "four waters return to the hall", which means "rich water does not flow out of outsiders".

Origin of Li Chunliang

Li Chunliang was once known as Dengcao Lane and Iron Stone Pier in different historical periods. The origin of the name Dengcaoxiang cannot be verified, but the origin of Tieshidun is related to the smelting industry in Wuhu.

Wuhu's smelting technology has existed since ancient times. Wuhu's smelting industry was mainly concentrated in the west of the city, and the western section of Li Chunliang was one of the main smelting areas at that time. Tieshidun was the best witness to the prosperity of Wuhu's smelting industry. Unfortunately, this Wuhu metallurgical and casting industrial site with great cultural value was gradually eroded and disappeared after the 1920s. The vicinity of the site has gradually evolved into a densely populated residential area, and the iron stone pier has only remained in the memory of ordinary people. According to folklore, Li Chunliang was named after the law-abiding residents of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty for two years.

Celebrity gathering place

Don't underestimate Li Chunliang. This "tiny place" has condensed the essence and essence of Wuhu historical sites for hundreds of years, and has given birth to Hong Rong, Zhong Jiaqing, Li Chengwu, Wang Daohan and other masters. Li Chunliang is also the existing "museum without walls" in Wuhu.

Cuijiadawu

Standing on Jiuhuashan Road and looking in the direction of Li Chunliang, a Huizhou architecture will immediately attract people's attention. This is the Cuijia Mansion in Li Chunliang 15. The original Cui family mansion covers an area much larger than it is now. In addition to 15, 1 1, 13 and Suomian Lane 24 and 26 are also owned by Cui Jia.

According to the memory of Cui Shi's descendants, their ancestors used to be the teachers of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, which is often referred to as "imperial teachers". Cui Jia Dawu took the hall name "Cui Zhongde Hall". It means "do more good deeds and do more good deeds", and hang the Nanmu plaque engraved with the hall number above the main hall for the family to remember forever. According to Cui's descendants, there was a camphor box hidden on the back of the plaque, which contained a yellow robe and jacket given by Emperor Qianlong.

Unfortunately, due to the Cultural Revolution at that time and people's weak awareness of cultural relics protection, many wood carvings and brick carvings in Cui Dawu were completely destroyed, and the yellow robes and jackets that had gone through hardships were cut off by Cui's descendants and became playthings in the hands of children.

There are more than 50 former residences of celebrities, modern industrial heritages, cultural relics and historic sites, and outstanding buildings in the Qing Dynasty. As a historical and cultural block, Li Chunliang has been included in the protection planning and construction project of Wuhu ancient city. While repairing and protecting the historical and cultural blocks in Li Chunliang, the original features of Huizhou Guild Hall will be restored in the block, and its tourism function will be expanded to become a unique inn, teahouse, restaurant, commodity exhibition and local opera performance stage.

CCTV's food documentary "Blindly One City" was also filmed in Li Chunliang. Perhaps it really contains the purest customs of Wuhu. You can have a look if you are interested.
