Ask! The common breeding problem of mountain tortoise in China!
1. Breeding equipment and environment of Brazilian tortoise

Simply put, as long as there is water and light, ordinary families can raise it! The feeding container can be a common water tank, water basin, plastic basin, glass jar, etc. Anyway, as long as it can store water and prevent turtles from escaping! It is essential to build a piece of land for turtles to bask in the sun in a breeding container. But put a stone or a heavy piece of wood. Don't let the water level exceed them, or it will be meaningless to build them. Personally, I think the most suitable breeding container for Brazilian tortoise is the jar with ladder on the market, which saves space, is practical and clean!

Two: the breeding of Brazilian tortoises

1 Regular feeding: Feed on time every day, so as to form a habit. When conditioned reflex is formed, you must come to feed. The best feeding time every day is noon, because noon is the highest temperature in a day. Turtles eat at their best, too.

2 quality feeding: try to diversify the food. The food you feed must be fresh, and never feed rotten food. In the process of feeding, some vitamins and minerals can be properly added to ensure comprehensive nutrition, such as adding appropriate amount of cod liver oil into the body cavity of small fish and feeding it to soft-shelled turtles. Feed calcium tablets to turtles in food. The growth rate of Brazilian tortoise is faster than that of tortoise, ground tortoise and other turtles.

3. Water quality management: Because Brazil has lived in water for a long time, it is generally raised on a small scale like ours, with less water addition and easy deterioration of water quality. Especially in summer, the food falling into the water at high temperature and the excrement of soft-shelled turtle decompose and ferment, and the water quality is easy to stink. Even if there are filtration facilities, change the water. The filtered water is clear, but the inside is clear. In fact, bacteria have proliferated. Therefore, fresh water should be changed frequently. Brazil has low requirements for water quality. Just use tap water that has been sleepy for a few days or exposed to the sun!

Winter management of samba turtle: when the temperature drops below 15 degrees in late autumn, stop eating, stop moving and go into hibernation. However, Brazilian tortoises of origin are active all the year round, foraging and have no habit of hibernating. The cold tolerance of Brazilian tortoise is not as good as that of domestic tortoise, so it is best to raise it by heating. If you spend the winter naturally, you can't put it in a place with too low temperature.
