Except for fasting and chanting Buddha, none of the elders in Jinchi was qualified, but he made some contributions to guarding Guanyin Temple. At the end of the day, his comparison and vanity only make Kannonji incense exuberant and luxuriously decorated, so he is narrow-minded but anodyne. Kannonji is the only way for Tang Priest and his disciples. Guanyin had planned to go to the Tang Dynasty, but Guanyin only told the land gods along the way to take good care of Tang Priest and his disciples, and did not prompt Elder Jinchi (even though he did not dream). Obviously, this left him with bad luck.
Guanyin means that if Jinchi was still alive at that time, he would use his metaphor to embarrass Tang Priest and his disciples. If not, this task will fall on his apprentice, so when his mortal life comes, he will be left to fend for himself. Black bears are extremely refined. As can be seen from the description in the book, he has extraordinary attainments. He lives near Kannonji. He doesn't kill or do evil, but practices. Why does such a person teach the elders of Jinchi how to prolong their lives? It shows that he already knows Guanyin's intention and wants to secretly help this golden pool complete the disaster. As long as the Tang Priest doesn't come, teach him magic for a day and let him live until the Tang Priest comes.
Elder Jinchi committed suicide, and the black bear took advantage of the fire to rob. Black bear essence has long thought of the result of the old golden pool. Not to help him cultivate his mind, but to cultivate his heart of comparison while flattering him. Over time, this character of Jinchi was distorted, so the performance of the elders of Jinchi was incomprehensible when the Tang Priest came. Jinchi has the habit of collecting Buddhist costumes and treasures. As soon as I heard that the Tang Priest came from the Tang Dynasty, I immediately asked him what treasures he had, whether the temples here were good or not, how the scriptures were, and what treasures he brought. Tang Priest kept a low profile and didn't want to show off his wealth, but the Monkey King didn't like the arrogance of Jinchi, so he took out his robe.
This old Jinchi is really a gourmet. When he saw Jin Lan's cassock, he wanted it, but he was afraid that he would cry when he didn't get it. He insisted that the Tang Priest let him take it to his room and read it slowly. Such greedy people are not satisfied, and the more they look at it, the more they want it. As a result, he had evil thoughts and set the Tang Priest on fire, but a gust of wind from the Monkey King blew him and burned himself. The black bear essence had long expected this robbery. When he saw the monastery on fire, he didn't save Jinchi. But took the cassock while taking advantage of the fire. In this way, Jinchi, even if he is still alive, will die of face, which makes it more difficult for Tang Priest and his disciples to survive.
Old Jinchi's death is just a balance between merits and demerits. At first, Kannonji, a difficult Guanyin, was to atone for the elders in Jinchi. If he successfully completed the disaster, it was only a balance of merits and demerits, and his life depended on his own mentality. Even if he died, no one owed him, but the death of Jinchi became more meaningful after the intervention of the black bear, so his 200-year-old was well deserved.
Originally planned, after making a mistake in Jinchi, the Monkey King found the cassock and taught the elder Jinchi a lesson. The robbery ended, but the black bear stole the cassock and forced the old Jinchi to die. He also held a fair Buddhist costume meeting, which made the Monkey King experience the consequences of flaunting wealth and comparing with others, and forced Guanyin to come forward. This was a disaster that rose to a higher level. Through the arrangement of the black bear spirit, the people and monsters who died in this robbery were blessed. Even if the afterlife is better, it is his contribution. Guanyin can see clearly, of course. The black bear is as good as the Monkey King, so it becomes the only monster directly collected on the way to learn from the scriptures.
