In fact, stomach qi in TCM theory is generalized, not simply referring to "stomach", but including the digestion and absorption ability of spleen and stomach, acquired immunity, muscle function and so on. This function of the stomach is called "stomach qi". Only when the stomach qi flows downward, sinks instead of hiding, but is full of discontent, and the deficiency and the excess alternate, can Shui Gu be continuously decomposed. If the stomach qi does not drop, but it is full and does not drain, and the dregs and turbid qi stay in the spleen and stomach, there will be symptoms such as fullness, pain and fullness in the stomach cavity. If the stomach qi rises instead of falling, hiccups, nausea and vomiting will occur.
