In), he made a state master book at King Stuart's place, and was later selected as a free rider, and got a great book. The Hong family quit on the grounds of old age and went to an alchemist. In his forties, Ge Hong left his family and lived in seclusion in Baoshan, Lin 'an (now Hangzhou, Zhejiang). With its beautiful scenery and rich red brushstrokes, Ge Hong built a hut here and devoted himself to monasticism. Later, people changed their names to Geling in Baoshishan with his surname. Later, people built a ancestral temple on the ridge to worship him, which is today's Geling Baopuzi Daoyuan.
In his later years, Ge Hong heard that cinnabar was scratched with his toes, so he asked for instructions and ordered a mistake. He took his sons and nephews to Guang30, stayed in Luofushan for alchemy and collecting herbs, and wrote a book, thus creating a holy place for Lingnan Taoism. Later generations built a famous Taoist temple where he repaired the house. Ge Hong has left traces of activities in many parts of the country. For example, he has been to the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River and made an alchemy on a mountain called Moji near the Yangtze River in the ancient Yiling (now Yichang City). Now his alchemy mountain is also called Doug Mountain. Now that mountain is in Yichang, which has been established as a scenic spot.
After Ge Hong appeared, the story of his magic and exorcism was also circulated among the people. According to legend, one day, Ge Hong saw that the people were affected by the disaster, so he wore a star crown, a crane, Buddha dust in his hand, cloud shoes on his feet and a gourd on his shoulder. At that time, a thatched cottage was built on Lingfeng Mountain in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, where the evil wind was rustling, the black fog was misty, the ghosts were crying and the wolves were howling, the barren hills were barren and the people were in dire straits. It is called "performance hall" to help people who suffer from locust plague. Soon Lingfeng Mountain will be beautiful, with green pines and cypresses and exotic flowers and grasses, and the people will save the day and live more and more peacefully. This time, it annoyed the four demons-Taiqiu layman practicing snake essence, Wang Aoshan crow essence, Shantoutuo flying essence, and long-legged Huanggu locust essence. They came to Ge Hong's performance hall and pretended to listen to the classics, which was immediately seen by Ge Hong. The four demons even came out with weapons and rushed to Ge Hong. Ge Hong was unhurried. With a wave of his hands, he dusted off the dust, and all the weapons of the four demons fell off, and hurriedly fled to the main hall to perform. Qiu lay man showed his true colors and threw himself at Ge Hong, who threw the dust into the air and muttered to himself. The dust turned into five golden dragons, surrounded the snake essence, and soon killed it. When the villagers of Wang 'ao saw it, they also showed their true colors. They sprayed flames and attacked Ge Hong. Ge Hong quickly opened the gourd, and a golden light sucked the crow essence in and instantly turned into blood. With a warm smile on their faces, Shantoutuo and the long-legged locust escape every day. The next day, Ge Hong went to the distant mountains to collect herbs, but he didn't come back because of the long journey. In the evening, the second demon came back to his eyes and did evil on the mountain, making the plague popular again. On the third day, Ge Hong came back and quickly took out the water and scattered it all over the hillside. After a while, he recovered and the plague was eliminated. In the evening, the second demon came to visit the situation again. When he saw the beautiful scenery, he was surprised and angry. Then he became thousands of flies and locusts and surrounded the performance hall. Ge Hong threw the rice into the air and read a spell. The rice grains turned into thousands of bees, picked up spears and rushed at flies and locusts. Soon both flies and locusts were killed.
