The development of economy and the increase of foreign exchange provide conditions for the development of medicine and the exchange and dissemination of medical knowledge. During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, unprecedented economic and cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries brought foreign medicinal materials and medical works into China, which provided a material and theoretical basis for TCM prevention and health care.
During the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, frequent wars promoted the population flow between the North and the South, promoted ethnic exchanges and cultural integration, and made TCM health care integrate multi-ethnic medical health care ideas.
Buddhism and Taoism prevailed in Sui and Tang Dynasties, and the ruling class of the Tang Dynasty put forward the program of "three rescues" of cowardice, Buddhism and Taoism, and took it as the official orthodox thought. The contents of health care in the works of "Three Religions" were also absorbed by doctors and alchemists at that time, enriching the contents of preventive health care in traditional Chinese medicine.
