Mount Qingcheng

It is located in the southwest of Dujiangyan 15km, 66km away from Chengdu. It is one of the cradles of Taoism in China and a famous Taoist mountain. Known as "blessed land with a unique cave", "fairyland on earth" and "quiet city in the world". In 2000, it was listed on the World Heritage List by UNESCO. The scenic spots are divided into Qingcheng Mountain in front and Qingcheng Mountain in the back.

Qingcheng Mountain has beautiful scenery and many cultural relics. Fu Jian Palace is the starting point of mountaineering trip. Built in the Tang Dynasty, there are now two halls and three hospitals. On the left is the site of Princess Mansion in Ming and Qing Dynasties. The natural painting workshop is a pavilion built in Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty. The scenery here is excellent, and tourists are like paintings, hence the name "natural picture scroll". There are statues of "Shi Tian" Zhang Daoling and his 30 generations of Sun Shitian in Shi Tian Cave, statues of Xuanyuan, Fuxi and Shennong in the main hall of the cave, and an ancient ginkgo tree with a tree age of more than 2,000 years in front of the cave. Out of Shi Tian Cave, visit Ningqiao, which is the ancestral hall, and Chaoyang Cave and Shangqing Palace are in the north. Shangqing Palace was built in the Jin Dynasty, and there are cliff stone carvings such as "the fifth famous mountain in the world" and "the first peak in Qingcheng".

After Qingcheng, the scenery is beautiful, the forest is secluded and the mountains are magnificent. The main attractions are Jinbi Tiancang, Notre Dame Cave, Wutan Mountain Spring, Baiyun Group Cave and Tianqiao Wonderland. The natural scenery of Houshan is mysterious and beautiful, and the original beauty is like a paradise. Houshan is also a famous producing area of Shu tea.

Transportation: Chadianzi Bus Station (formerly Ximen Bus Station) has shuttle buses to Qingcheng Mountain and Qingcheng Houshan every day, with the departure interval of 10 minute. It takes only 20 minutes by car from Dujiangyan to Qingcheng Mountain, and the bus fare is 10 yuan. From Qianshan to Houshan, you only need to take CMB or taxi.

Tickets: Qian Shan tickets 60 yuan; Moon Lake Ferry to and from 6 yuan; Qian Shan cableway is a one-way trip from 30 yuan to 50 yuan (Yuechenghu Station and Lingyun Mountain Villa Station); Tickets for Houshan 20 yuan, Jinli Cableway One-way 25 yuan and Baiyun Cableway 35 yuan.

Catering: Taoism has always attached importance to food. They collected fruits and herbs from the mountains, and brewed "Four Musts of Qingcheng" with traditional Taoist secret recipes: Dong Tian Gongcha, Dong Tian Milk Wine, Ginkgo Stewed Chicken and Dong Tian Kimchi.

Tip: The entrance and exit of Qingcheng Mountain are almost covered by various ropeways and newly-built antique temples, so it is difficult to find them. In order to prevent getting lost or being fooled, it is recommended that friends who like hiking buy a guide map before going up the mountain.
