The long history and development of Wumen Medical School will inevitably extend the development of pharmaceutical industry, so the privatization of pharmaceutical industry in Wuzhong area is earlier and develops faster. According to Wang Jian's "A Tour of Song Ping Jiangcheng", today's Shi Xue Street was once called Shi Yao Street in the Song Dynasty, when the pharmaceutical industry gathered. In the Ming Dynasty, most drug dealers in Suzhou were concentrated on both sides of the Nagato Canal, and the market was very prosperous. Shantang Street, built by Bai Juyi in the Tang Dynasty, has always been a scenic spot with rich customs and Wuzhong characteristics, and it is also a distribution center for Chinese herbal medicines. During the reign of Ganjia in Qing Dynasty, Suzhou traditional Chinese medicine flourished and gradually divided into medicine shops and decoction pieces shops. It is said that Wang Yao Temple was a gathering place for colleagues in the medicinal materials industry at that time.

Centennial Brand-Originated in Suzhou 1905

-Guangxu founded and nurtured a noble family-

In the 31st year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty (1905), there were as many as 43 pharmacies in Suzhou, while the industry of decoction pieces was active in Yang Yuxiang, Liuxiang, Huang San Temple and Taihe House. 6? 1 The drugstore was opened by a Confucian doctor named Wu at the north end of Nanhao Street outside Changmen, one mile away from Shantang Street. According to the investigation, at that time, they developed a conditioning prescription based on Taiding's health preservation theory, and drank it in the form of brewing (that is, medicinal tea) for many years. Because of its simplicity and cheapness, it was so popular that Suzhou people still have it.

1991165438+1From October 28th to 30th, the "Wumen Medical College Seminar" sponsored by Suzhou Municipal Health Bureau was held in Suzhou. The purpose of the conference is to "promote the traditional characteristics of Wuzhong medicine and develop the cause of Suzhou traditional Chinese medicine". In their speeches, the participants highly praised the historical position and research achievements of Wuzhong medicine, and fully affirmed its academic achievements and traditions. During the meeting, many old Chinese medicine practitioners expressed their opinions on inheriting and carrying forward Wuzhong medicine, studying the theory of febrile diseases, cultivating the successors of Wumen medical school, and establishing the theory of health preservation, and set up Wuzhong medical research working group to edit and publish Wuzhong medical research (internal publication, national exchange). These decisions point out the direction for the future research of Wu medicine.

In recent years, with the rapid economic development, Suzhou has returned to a prosperous era. If people live well, they will always deliberately pursue the quality of life and longevity. Therefore, Wumen Medical College set up a health park on the west side of Suzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which is responsible for recuperation, so as to embody the essence of traditional Chinese medicine, such as "going to work before getting sick (taking medicine) to treat diseases", "preventing diseases before getting sick" and "seeking the root of treating diseases". In addition, Huarun Ling, a well-known old Chinese medicine practitioner (director of the Chinese Medicine Museum and author of Wumen Medical College), took the lead in setting up the Materia Medica Museum, an industrialized branch of Wumen Medical College, restoring a century-old shop and owning the Health Culture Research Center of Wumen Medical College, aiming at establishing the health theory of Wumen Medical College, specializing in Chinese medicine health food, improving the sub-health situation that western medicine cannot change at present, preventing diseases and resisting aging, and prolonging life.
