The difference between mortar and concrete
Mortar and concrete are commonly used materials in buildings. What's their difference?

Different ingredients

Mortar consists of sand and cement, while concrete consists of sand, gravel and cement.

Different strength

Mortar strength grades are 5#, 7.5# and 10#, and concrete strength grades are C 10, C 15, C20, C25, C30, C35, C40, C50 and C60.

Different uses

Mortar is mainly used for bonding masonry, and can be used for bricklaying, flaky masonry, block stone, precast concrete block and plastering. Concrete is cast as a whole, forming walls, piers, columns and other components or buildings.
