Wulanchabu is an important birthplace of Dayao culture, Yangshao culture and Daihai culture, and is praised by the archaeologist Su as "the place where the sun rises". Wulanchabu is rich in tourism resources, with ancient sites, forests and lakes, hot spring volcanoes and various grasslands all over the country.
Wulanchabu city has diverse landforms, mainly composed of Inner Mongolia Plateau, Wulanchabu hills, Yinshan mountains and hilly platforms from north to south. Wulanchabu is located inland, far from the ocean. Its climate has four distinct seasons, but the temperature is low, with an average annual temperature of 0 ~ 6℃.
Wulanchabu is located at the junction of Mongolia, Shanxi and Hebei provinces, backed by the Hu Bao-Hubei economic circle and 300 miles east of the capital Beijing. It is the nearest city in the autonomous region to Beijing. It is a transportation hub connecting the three economic zones of North China, Northeast China and Northwest China, and also an important channel leading to Mongolia, Russia and Eastern European countries.
