Smoking is harmful to health, which has long been deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. If "cigarette" is replaced by "electronic cigarette", the conclusion that "it is harmful to health" will not be any different.
The latest World Health Organization's "20021WHO Global Tobacco Epidemic Report" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report") emphasizes that "e-cigarettes are harmful and there is no sufficient evidence to prove that they can be used as smoking cessation tools".
In addition to known toxic substances such as ethylene glycol, aldehydes, volatile organic compounds (VOC) and metals, "unknown hazards" are even more frightening.
Stay away from e-cigarettes
In the domestic e-cigarette market, the e-cigarette products on sale lack effective supervision in raw materials, additives, technology and quality, and the products are uneven, cigarette oil leaks, inferior batteries catch fire or even explode, and unsafe ingredients contained in additives are all "time bombs" in "unknown hazards".
Some e-cigarette merchants even use teenagers' psychology of catching up with fashion to launch products with lower cost and lower price, with colorful smoke and dazzling packaging, which greatly improves the "unknown risk factors".
In this regard, Hou Hongwei, deputy director of the National Tobacco Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, also said in an interview that "e-cigarettes should be standardized as soon as possible, focusing on strengthening the protection of minors and caring for the future of the country, society and every family."
