This is the development of human society at that time. In China's feudal ethics, women are accessories, which is also a way to express orthodoxy in the Romance of Gods. As you can see, hermeneutics is very strict about the concept of men and women, and they will not approach women easily. In fact, this is consistent with the traditional feudal ethics. Moreover, in the whole romance of ghosts and gods, the explanation of religion is the existence of orthodoxy, so they will not accept female disciples, because it will become particularly moral.
